To be honest, I don't ever recall her throwing a tantrum because she didn't get what she wanted.
I am watching a scene right now where she is doing exactly that. It's the scene at her sister's wedding reception, she says she wants to marry Danny and her mother says that she is blind because she thinks she is in love. Granted her mother is annoying and patronizing sometimes, but the way Carla just HAS to discuss that in the middle of the reception, I mean, come on! It's like someone else said here, one moment she is like a child who is upset and screams when she doesn't get what she wants, the other she is grown-up and independent enough to live by herself, work, etc? I understand the "message" of the movie but maybe they shouldn't have made Carla seem so unlikable and inconsiderate of other people's feelings, like her sister's. When it came to HERSELF she was very sensitive, but everybody else's feelings just didn't matter? Couldn't she understand that she could discuss it later with her parents? Why was she hurt when Daniel said those awful things in front of everybody but then she doesn't care that she is making a scene at her sister's wedding?
Look at this signature. Good. Now you'll remember me.
