Some people claim to be fans of Leslie Nielson yet don't like or hate this movie. This movie is every bit as good as The Naked Gun movies as far as I'm concerned and I really don't understand how fans of that could not enjoy this movie. So many classic lines and funny scenes.
It isn't. The Naked Gun movies had a character who didn't know he was stupid, mostly based in reality... Leslie Nielson flopping over a waterfall with some dolphins (instead of salmon?) is not in any way based in reality... Take out the jokes and Naked Gun still sort of vaguely hangs together as a police movie, but Wrongfully Accused is not in any way thrilling... All of the Naked Guns are far better movies. This and Spy Hard (haven't seen Dracula Dead and Loving it, and I suspect I don't want to!) are terrible.

Actually, I kind of liked Dracula Dead & Loving It. But I am fans of Mel Brooks and Leslie Nielsen. Granted, it wasn't their best efforts, but it was still mostly funny. Wrongfully Accused is funny, but not nearly as much as the Naked Gun films.

Perhaps I am mistaken, then... I just remember reading a bad review of it around the time it came out, and deciding that it didn't seem like my thing... but I will give it a chance, at least.

Yeah, it was fairly reviled by critics. But most comedies get that treatment from the critics. Yeah, if you're a fan of Mel Brooks, I'd recommend giving it a shot.
By the way, Tombstone is among my favorite Westerns.
