John Carpenters Vampires OR The Lost Boys?

Ok, two vampire movies that put a completely new twist on the genre...Which one is better? I like them both just the same.

I like both films, but i choose "John Carpenter's Vampires"...

Johnny: I'm gonna kill a bunch of people.

The Lost Boys. Vampires is pretty much a flawed action movie with James Woods shooting off cheesy one-liners. Entertaining but flawed. TLB is an 80s classic.

Vampires.

Lost Boys all the way!! Aside from the vampires looking a tiny bit better, the whole movie has more meaning and is very allegorical. Vampires is just a fun popcorn movie to watch with your friends.

I probably like Vampires better. I don't mind watching either one though.

I like Vampires much better than Lost Boys, but the latter was really more of a comedy than a horror movie. Vampires had some laughs, but was a much darker movie. I will say that Kiefer Sutherland was the best villain out of the bunch, but Thomas Ian Griffith's Valek was so, completely, evil that it was easy to root against him. As usual, though, good villains make good movies, but the heroes of Vampires win out over the youngsters.

If we all liked the same movie, there would only be one movie!

Vampires is better, but I LOVE Lost Boys. I watch it every time it's on TV.
