It makes no sense that the Scream movies exist in the Halloween Universe

We see Scream 2 playing on the tv in one scene in this movie and i always found it dumb as hell. Cause they are watching the original Halloween in the 1st Scream and talk about it several times, so the Halloween movies exist in the Scream universe and the Scream movies exist in the Halloween universe? huh?

I don't think it's meant to make sense, it's just the two franchises having fun and winking at each other.

What really makes it wild is when you take into account the fact that in #5, Tara is watching an episode of Dawson's Creek, also starring Michelle Williams, and the episode she's watching also happens to feature Scott Foley, aka Roman Bridger. So when you throw that in the mix, the whole universe really breaks.

You're overthinking it. It's not meant to have a great weight plot-wise, it's just fun Easter eggs.

Now what's really wild is when you take into account that in Scream 5, Tara is watching an episode of Dawson's Creek, starring Michelle Williams, aka Molly from Halloween H20. Meanwhile, the episode she is watching also happens to feature Scott Foley, aka Roman from Scream 3.

What if in the universe of Halloween H20, Halloween (1978) is a film based on the events surrounding Michael Myers' murder spree.
