It’s weird cause it’s not highly favored. But John McTiernan delivers entertainment again.

Lol I feel ya but other than action/adventure this feels like something of its own. It’s a very unique story which is why I like it.

Really underrated gem of a film. John McTiernan's most underrated film. I would love to see a Director's Cut of this film someday. It's a film you just feel could have been an all time classic if McTiernan/Crichton were on the same page for the vision of the film and Studio didn't mess with it.

I remember this film coming out and getting not so great reviews, mostly 2 stars or lower in some cases. And I got it on VHS like a year later and just loved it. Just a great old school type action adventure film with horror elements thrown in. Great performances from mostly unknown cast besides Antonio Banderas, who's great in it but is not really the hero of the film but our guide through it. I love Vladmir Kulich as Beowulf and Dennis Storhøi as Herger who are the central heroes of the film. You get great old school action and the film doesn't overstay it's welcome at 1hr 43mins.

It's flawed for sure but far better then it's 6.6 IMDB score (I'd go 7.2 with it).
