Linda Fiorentino ruined this movie

While I am a huge fan of Kevin Smith's movies and I do like Dogma, I just feel like this movie would have been better if it wouldn't have had the monotone of Linda Fiorentino's performance. The worst case was after Rufus fell from the sky and they went to Mooby's to eat. When Rufus asked what they were eating, her response was "egg---a---moo-by--muf-fin". I mean the Terminator doesn't even sound this robotic. Did she just wake up from a deep sleep right before the cameras started rolling or what? It's no wonder that Kevin Smith will never make another movie with her in it. And we fans are all the better for it.

Actually, I think she added something to the role. Her monotone expresses how bored she is with life, how she takes no joy in life.

I guess the meek can inherit the Earth now. It looks like the stupid aren't doing anything with it.

Smith should have cast Joey Lauren Adams as Bethany. She was great in Smith's previous movie Chasing Amy. Almost all of the main cast of his previous movies was in Dogma except her.

Not all the characters can be larger than life with big monologues. Someone has to play it straight, non?

Everybody likes the Shen.

She was awful!

Her acting in this movie is horrible. She did not blend in.
She looks fake.

How was in possible that KS made this happen?

I liked her sort of monotonous moodiness, but she gives off that 'I wish I could get the hell off this set' vibe.
I don't mean to impose, but I am the Ocean.

Linda Fiorentino was one of the biggest highlights of this movie!.

"What we gotta do is we gotta snag that tall dude and stomp the sh!t out of him!."

I would say her performance was easily the worst I have EVER seen in a hollywood film. She didnt like Smith and it showed. he has mentioned many, many times how much of a bitch she was on set and gave the worst performance I have ever seen

Oh if only Janeane Garofalo had this part I think it might have been
very very different.

I concur. I really didn't mind Fiorentino's performance, but I'm certain I'd have loved this movie even more than I already do if Janeane Garofalo had the part.

I think this movies is great, but she is the weakest link in it. Probably because she is the only straight/normal character to contrast with the weirdos, but yeah I think someone else could have made her a bit more likeable/sympathetic.

Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that I'll be over here looking through your stuff.

I agree. She seems so bored in every scene, and in her dialogue scenes it seems sometimes that she hardly wants to even look at the other actors. I think she was miscast in a way that I consider Dogma one of Smiths weaker movies.

you guys are talking about the protagonist of the movie? she was great.
