Brendan Fraser would like to do another Mummy film

Interesting comments from Brendan:

I remember reading a while back that action films had taken a big toll on his body and he was in rough shape so I'm a bit surprised to see this, but if he thinks he can get in shape and do it I'd definitely check it out. I didn't much care for Mummy 2 & 3 so it would be cool if they could end the franchise on a high note.

That'd be kind of interesting. Considering the time jump it'd be the late 50s or early 60s. They could take some inspiration from the Cushing-Lee movies being made at that time.

reply

As the first Mummy was 20 years ago and it was set in 1926, that would place a 2019 movie in or around 1946, surely?

reply

The third Mummy 'Tomb of the Dragon Emperor' was set in 1946. So another potential one with Brendan Fraser would probably be set in the 1950s.

reply

Well, the third Mummy film can go not exist somewhere for all I care.

Guy just wants a job. Haven't seen him star in anything in a long time

reply

And what is wrong with that???

reply

He recently co-starred in a TV series produced and directed by Danny Boyle called : Trust

reply

He's definitely had a lower profile over the last handful of years, but just here recently he's had a bit of a resurgence doing TV.

The dude has had a really hard time in his personal life and is trying to recover.

reply

Yeah, and I miss him! I hear that he was sexually harassed by some producer and he really backed out of the scene after that. Pretty sad, really!

reply

i'm all for it

THE MUMMY 4:THE SEARCH FOR OCONNELL'S COCK.

reply

I remember the majority of people saying they wanted to see The Mummy 4 instead of Tom Cruise’s Mummy. There a was a petition to bring Fraser back to The Mummy that signed over a million signatures. If the peeps want it, why not do it?

reply

Tom Cruise's Mummy almost single handedly killed the plans for a Dark Universe series of movies.

reply

Unjustly, I say. It's not as good as the '99 film, but I still enjoyed it. In fact I own it.

reply

I OWN AND ENJOY IS AS WELL..THAT SAID,IT IS PRETTY SHITTY CONSIDERING THE BUDGET,EXPECTATIONS,DEAD UNIVERSE ON ITS BACK.

reply

It could've been better, sure, but it was certainly much better than its critical response would indicate.

It is good, not great. I liked the atmosphere and vibe of the film, and there are some good set pieces. An aging Cruise held up well even though the script seemed to clearly indicate a younger actor should be playing the character, and Sofia Boutella was great as Ahmanet.

I have no qualms giving it a 7/10, which is a solid score in my book. Or if I was grading on an A-F scale, I'd give it a B-. I liked it and wish they had continued on with the DU.

I remember almost all the negative feedback at the time was "screw this, make another Fraser Mummy movie". They really wern't paying attention to trending social media concerns about that production. Hell bent on their daft monster-verse idea. Stupid series is all T'd up for a whole new trilogy with a grown kid played by the latest handsome up and coming stud and Fraser playing the Sean Connery role to Indy. Could be tons of fun.

reply

Please do.

reply

I'm sure he would but the 3rd one was terrible

reply

Don't blame that on Brendan. Blame it on the writer(s) and director.

reply

It would be nice.

reply

we all want Brendan Fraser to do another Mummy

reply

Count me in. I'd love to see it then maybe see him do some other movies too.

reply

I hear he is one of the best parts of doom patrol which I need to get

reply

He's gonna have to get back in tip top shape. I'm talking serious training. He needs to do that for himself anyway.
