Remember this scene

While sitting on bed. Jennifer Lopez (Grace) saying to Sean Penn (Bobby)

I'm tired of hanging drapes. Can you think of anything else to do Bobby?

By the look on Bobby's face you knew exactly what he was thinking they could do.

Yeah, but just as the rest of the movie, the next thing that happens is weak and disappointing.

JLo had me erect during every scene with her. Even her voice was sexy in this.

reply

she had sean penn erects too. i hear he humped her on set of this film.

reply

I never heard reports of have relations behind the camera, but I know they wanted her to do a topless scene but she protested the idea.

reply

that is tragedy but good film anyways

reply

She is topless in the sex scene with the sheriff. And in an quick flashback scene though.

reply

yes i think i remember now haha i loved this movie when i was teenager. watched it many time!

reply

Same here. The doggy scene was like pr0n for me at that age.

reply

hahahah yes this is true but i remember as teen i prefer earlier scene where penn hump jlo on top hahahh. at 15 that scene was in wank bank hahahha

reply

Both those scenes were my favorite. Also because Jlo wore a sexy dress and gown in them both. I love when they wear high heel style shoes. But the second scene was my favorite due to JLO being so well known for her butt.

Great movie and Lopez looked fantastic.

Hot af. Loved that part. Wished they had more production pics of her in that sexy black gown from later.

reply

The whole movie was good. She only had a small part in it but Claire Danes was great.

i just watch this film again because of our conversation. first time i have seen since i was teen. things that stands out:

1. young jaoquin phoenix in film. he eats sean penns bus ticket and sean penn beat him up hahahah. great scene!

2. ending is more black than i remember. really bleak. kind of downer. but journey there is fun. lots of betrayals.

3. film score by ennio morricone - one of the great score of the 90s. perfect. he was born to score desert film.

4. sean penn and j lo have amazing chemistry every scene they are in is amazing. definely humping off camera

5. billy bob thornton play most annoying character. i hate this man!

6. i think u-turn is one of oliver stones best films of 90s. i think it is better than natural born killer and any given sundays (both overrate).

Great Movie.

Two side notes.
1. Sharon Stone was supposed to be in this before JLo.
2. JLo said Penn was the best kisser of all her leading men. Goes to no. 4. I agree with no. 5.

I like Billy Bob tho. His One False Move, Sling Blade, and The Gift were some of the best written movies. His performance in all of those mentioned (except The Gift), and Monster’s Ball and Bad Santa were also extremely good. So, maybe it’s the character in this movie, not the actor, that you didn’t like.

This is when JLo made interesting film choices. This movie, U-Turn, Blood and Wine, Unfinished Life, Out of Sight, Selena, and later Hustlers.

i think sharon stone is much better actress than j-lo but she would not have had as good chemistrys with sean penn as j-lo have, so film better with j-lo. also in 1997 i believe sharon was around 40 and i think too old for u turn. grace character needed to be in 20's young smoking and deceitful - that is why she suck men like sean in to her game.

i also heard bill paxton was close to being in this film but backed out 1 week before shoot start and sean penn take his place. i do think bill and sharon would have made for good couple. so sean/j-lo or sharon/bill, but only that way works. if you mix either one, does not work.

yes i like billy bob, i have not seen in too many film but he is okay.

i have only seen j-lo in anaconda (very good monster films) and also blood & wine and money train (all decent film). when she become famous for singing shit songs and dancing, her films sadly become shit like her pop career. she was good in 90s though. she ruin acting potential for shit music and money.
