What is your favorite scene in the Truman Show?

reply

My favourite scene is probably when Meryl realizes that she has given too much away when she offers Truman the cocoa and he realizes the product placement. Then when he freaks out and threatens her and she yells "DO SOMETHING!" and Truman realizes now that Meryl has definitely given it away that there is indeed someone watching him

On the Bus. And the same guy trying to drive the Ferry.
For me this movie is a 10.

There are many excellent scenes in this brilliant movie. But one that hasn't been mentioned here, is when the whole cast are out searching for Truman and Christof, thinking, says 'we're not watching the sea' only for them to spot a lonely boat crashing through the waves. 'Truman where are you going?' he whispers. A great plot twist aswell as the swelling of the music make it a magical moment. Truman's outfoxed them all.

Resume Transmition!

When Truman is climbing the stairs, just before reaching up the wall. That´s perfection!

I can't make up my mind on a "favorite", but one that I like and didn't see in this thread is the dance flashback scene. Truman and Meryl are dancing and Marlon and his girlfriend are dancing as well. Suddenly we see Sylvia/Lauren's bracelet and then her. Truman gets goofy and then suddenly they are dragging Sylvia out of the room.

The whole ending while he's in the storm making his way to the wall, then he tries breaking the wall and finally him walking out of the exit. By that point of the movie I felt his frustration and I was rooting for him to make it and become free and I get goose bumps at those parts every time I watch it. Truly powerful movie. It is fantastic.

This isn't my favorite scene. It's a minor scene but I just noticed it last night and thought it was clever. I thought "the actor portraying Marlon" played well when he needed to improvise on the spot. (In the Truman Movie, consider that we're watching actors portraying actors.) Having written that, if he portrayed the same storyline character since Truman was a child, that he should have developed great acting chops having been in-character almost 24 hours per day.

The scene I'm referring: When Truman met Marlon at the convenience store, while he was restocking the vending machine. Marlon only had a small amount of candy to restock. He put 3 packages in the machine. When Truman turned away for a moment, he took back 2 of them, so he could restock them again.

I noticed that too. it was such a small thing and so quick but very intriguing.

I read this in a chola accent.

End of movie, when Truman left studio.
