Steel 2: Reforged

Steel becomes something of legend in the 15 years that he's been inactive, inspiring a 20 year old hoodlum, Ray-Ray Steele, to push himself to the limit. This is when a Russian pimp named Boskov kills his friend, Jordan, for trying to skip out on some money he's owed. Ray runs from Boskov and his gang friends and hides in an old junkyard where he finds the old Steel headquarters. The outfit obviously doesn't fit, so he makes some modifications to make himself look bigger, and takes to the streets. Sparks sees him on TV, and goes back to the junkyard to see not John Irons, but Ray Steele worn out from wearing the suit for too long, and she tells Ray to call her Oracle while they build a modified suit. The two make a modified Steel suit, this time with a full helmet and propultion system. The old hammer doesn't work, so they build one that is purely for smashing and throwing. Ray goes back to the streets, and Oracle sits back at her command post, the two fighting crime on the streets. Boskov, however, has captured John Henry Irons and forced him to make a suit tailored to Boskov's specifications. Ray and Boskov then fight in the streets for revenge and power, respectively, with Ray winning. Ray then makes peace with the death of Jordan, and walks into the horizon with a monologue about what makes a man.
The End.

A *beep* stereotypical sequel, for a *beep* bland movie.

The sick, sad truth is, I would buy that DVD.

This is definitely one of those films WB wants swept under the rug. Supposed to be a kids movie and yet every kid hated it. A failure in all respects.

reply

Actually, I would not be surprised. Criterion puts out tons of crap. Many films that do not belong end up getting released as Criterion.

If the Special Features don't include a 5-minute special on how to make Grandma's souffle, I ain't buyin' it.

Every-time I feel sad this thread always cheers me up, this thread has been a live and kicking for seven years, let's not lose it by bumping it every once in a while :)

I've got an ignore list longer than a Chinese phone book.

PLEASE STOP!! As president (and treasurer) of BOTH the Steel (tm) AND Shaq (Reg Tm) fanclubs I understand that this is just a big joke to you people, but please think of what it feels like to a TRUE FAN to get your hopes up like that! If you continue to insist on posting HOAXES like this I will have no choice but to REPORT you.

I'll have you know that I have communicated personally with Jon Mulvaney at Criterion. Like the alleged dvd, they have NO plan to release this film on blue-ray (of course I told him that they should!)

The next time one you "merry pranksters" considers posting some cooked up LIE (I admit it, I tried to pre-order tickets to the 10th anniversary theatrical re-release of Catwoman in 3D that NEVER HAPPENED, at least not in the US...) please think of the children.

Children like D'Andre. D'Andre Watson is a former Steel-The Movie "SuperFan of the Month" (July, 2013) on our website. He's spent most of his life in the foster care system and his only possessions are a tattered Shaquille O'Neal poster and a VHS copy of "Steel", but who has a vcr anymore?

Certainly not the group homes he was shuffled between. While surfing the internet at the library one afternoon D'Andre stumbled upon a message board thread -this thread- about a DVD release of his favorite movie of all time. Of course he got his hopes up. Do YOU want to tell him it's not going to happen?

He's been waiting for that release for SEVEN YEARS. All he wants is to see a basketball player portray a superhero, must he give up on that dream? Isn't it time we stop letting all the D'Andre's down with false promises? Thanks for reading.
