I wanted the Jackal to win!

I was kinda hoping the jackal would win. Anybody else??

Yes I wanted the Jackal to win too, haha. He was an interesting character. :)

i wanted to him to shoot the first lady and kill her and richard gere would be watching and be sad cause she is Unfaithful to him and not a Pretty Woman anymore. Then he'd be like "bitch please I'm an American Gigalo, whatevs".

But seriously, if you didn't want the jackal to win in this you're probably boring with few friends who you probably have had from high school and have nothing in common with anyomore or work friends your play tennis with but can't open up to because deep down you know that if you left your job you'd never see them again and if you're married or have a girlfriend you give her bad sex, and if you think you don't you're lying to yourself and if she says you're good in bed I'll bet you $17 you're not.

Bruce Wiliis was a badass, you didn't want him to win cause if he did he'd do your bored wife/girlfriend better than you and run off with her With A Vengeance.

Jackal ftw. Girls HATE boring men like you, they like Loopers who have a Sixth Sense for Dying Hard in Sin City baby.

Go have a cry/laugh/wank in the corner Mothman.

I rooted for the Jackal as well. Except for the very end at the subway, this guy was a cool-as-ice assassin that was efficient and a professional in his work, sort of like Agent 47 from the Hitman series. Seeing him mess up and die to Richard Gere and his ex was something I disliked.

As for the people who complain about other people rooting for bad guys, why do you think people like to watch a series of movies within certain genres (horror, comic book, action, science fiction, fantasy, drama, thriller, etc.) that has the same villain(s) in it? It is because the villain is cool/memorable, no matter if the villain is a protagonist or an antagonist. The exact same thing could be said about villains in video games and TV shows as well.

I think this movie should'v went with the Jackal as a villain protagonist, with Gere as a hero antagonist, and the conflict should've ended with the Jackal killing Gere's character. That's my two cents.

I never felt Jackal was a villain in the first place - he's simply a top professional at what he does. Of course he should've won.

Bunch of retards came on the thread to berate the OP - not realizing that they were, in fact, rooting for:
- an IRA terrorist
- an ETA terrorist
- FBI terrorists
- the First Lady... whoring behind a Children Care Unit to score political points for her lying husband. She deserved a bullet.

Yes I was hoping for the bad guy to win as well. How immature of me. Because the goddamn villain was bruce willis! I bet this was on purpose.

But now when he had so many mediocre roles - not that much.

And there are no bad people, only sick people.

Being a Bruce Willis fan, I kind of wanted him to win.

While I didn't want him to win, exactly . . . anybody who blows away Jack Black is okay in my book. Steve V.

reply

Yup. Ideally, he would have just shot the president's wife and made a clean getaway, without all those unnecessary deaths. And Declan would have escaped, then gone back to Ireland to continue the good fight.

Maybe!!!
