Why did you watch Gummo?

I hated this movie. My brother tricked me into watching it, telling me it was "good". I kept asking him "when does it get good?" and he kept saying "soon, just keep watching it". When it was over, I told him it was horrible and I wished I'd never seen it. Then he said "haha, I just tricked you into watching one of the worst movies ever!". Fyi I am 32 and my brother is 20, he thought it was a good joke to make me watch this crap and he knew the only way I'd see it was by him telling me it was "good" because we have somewhat similiar tastes in film. So thats my excuse. Sorry if this has been done before, but I don't want to read thru all the Gummo posts, just tell me: "WHY DID YOU WATCH THIS CRAP?"

I watch the movie because I seen a poster with the bunny boy and I like it.

I watched it because I heard that it had two Sleep songs in it (Dragonaut and Some Grass). I thought the movie was pretty good.

The music intrigued me. Awesome soundtrack.

Me, too! I wondered why they used a Buddy Holly song (somebody told me they did, and I love Buddy Holly). . . now I k-now!

Because it's a classic.

Am i the only one that has that dream?

I hired it from the Video Shop because I had heard that it was written by Harmony Korine who also wrote Kids, which is my favourite movie. I didn't hate Gummo but it is far from as good as I expected; if Kids is a 5 star movie then Gummo is about a 2 1/2.

One thing I did thoroughly enjoy was that dude's Dio shirt :P ROCK ON!!!

^^ this, basically this for me too.

I think you're the opposite of paranoid, I think you walk around with the delusion people like you.

I reconnected with a childhood friend who became a bit of an outcast as we got older but was a really good kid who got dealt a bad hand growing up. We shared a lot of similar tastes in music and movies and go to hang out a few times. He highly recommended I check this movie out. Unfortunately, he passed away while Kayaking in the ocean. He ended up getting caught in a terrible storm.

I just finished watching this and have been thinking of him. I'm also blasting Aesop Rock because we got to see him in concert back in 2008 and meet him after the show. Good times.

I really appreciated this movie too. I'm glad he recommended it.

I grew up in a little cold mining town in PA. It was Gummo. There is a certain level of mis-development that Gumo thrives. I was there. The scene that is particularly haunting but real is the gun shooting of bunny boy. We had moved from the country in Va to a little town in Pa and I swear ose two in person.

Gummo is real. Darwin is not always so forgiven.

I knew and loved "Julien Donkey-Boy" already so I couldn't wait to see this so I just ordered the DVD.

I ordered and watched the DVD of "Julien Donkey-Boy" cause I'm a big Herzog fan and the excerpts I found on YouTube were weird and brilliant.
