I've seen Donnie Brasco probably 10 times and the scene where they bash the Japanese guy in the tiolet of the Japanese restaurant never gets any easier for me. Everytime I mention this to others who have seen this film, I get the impression that nobody else is as affected by the scene as me. Anyone else find that scene DEEPLY disturbing?

I didn't find it disturbed because I've sen much worse but I do think it was an important scene. It showed how dangerous these guys were as well as how deep Donnie was getting.
I think the waiter should of backed off and went and got his manager or called the police but I don't think he deserved what he got. I also think the group should of tried bribing him first or simply went somewhere else to eat. I even thought that Donnie should of used an excuse of really bad foot odor or having to go to the bathroom first but it was still a good scene.
I know it wouldn't fit the movie but I would find it funny if during that scene they start playing the song http://10.214.0.14:15871/cgi-bin/blockpage.cgi?ws-session=2030622219 and the waiter went Jackie Chan on them.

Its a movie, whether it happened in real life or not is irrelevant. If this scene bothers any of you so much that you have to whine about it, don't watch R rated movies and stick to Disney.
