This scene bugs me

When Kurt Russell gets the trucker to pull over after he left the diner and the trucker claims he has never seen him or his wife before. If it was me, there is no way I let that trucker get out of my sight from then on. I also would have beat the *beep* out of the trucker if had too rather than let him drive off, because I know this man had something to do with the disappearance of wife.

And too the trucker should have told him instead that he did give his wife a ride to the diner and that was the last he seen of her, because that would have gotten him off the hook. You wouldn't have known who to suspect then. It could have someone from the diner that abducted her. If he had done this a few times already you would think that he would planned it out like that. But by acting the way he did would definantly give the husband a reason to track him down.

Did anybody else feel that way?

I agree with half of what you say, I would indeed NEVER let him go, regardless of the circumstances or if the cop has to bust me, maybe he would see that I'm serious and wouldnt let him out of my sight.

as for the trucker pretending he dropped off his wife, I disagree cause then he would become suspicious and the cop could hav detained him... as much as I would hate his guts if that ever happened, I think he did the best thing he could do in this situation

He had not done THIS many times before...as they said in the barn at the end, they take the couples together. This time they had a "wrench" in their plan from the start. Also, Russell did not get to the point of beating the guy (even if he would have at that point) because he saw a cop and figured well I can just tell him about it all, sadly the cop was a retard and could only do so much without evidence anyway. Maybe he took some pleasure in lying to Russell, making him think he was nuts or something instead of what you suggested (which by the way was a fair suggestion). Also this whole scene added more tension to the film and was good for the trailer, thus its existence. We have to allow suspension of disbelief if it can make the film more enticing at quick glance.

If you look when the cop looks into the cab of the semi, the other shirt the guy wore when giving his wife a ride is there. So he just changed clothes. Also, when Russell is driving on the side of the semi, you will notice the trucker wearing sunglasses, and when he gets out of the truck he isn't. So really there are more later indicating this guy is the same guy.

I am a gore watching freak!!!

If it don't have it, it isn't worth the watch.

He couldn't have attacked the trucker as the cop was there. And the trucker didn't want to say he had ever seen the girl because then the cop would have had to get a statement from him and he would have been a suspect.

At one point I thought the Cop was going to be involved, owing to the fact he didn't really take to much attention to the truck driver and seemed clarify straight away the guy getting the wrong truck. In the real world, the cop would have took it seriously and took him to down the station for more questionnaire. You don't need an O-Level to work out, a man's wife as gone missing and the last person seen with her was this truck driver. Innocent or not the cop should have investigated more.
