Kind of like how Kill Bill 1 & 2 are movies within the universe of Pulp Fiction with Uma Thurman’s character in Pulp Fiction being the actress who plays the Bride in Kill Bill.

There's no mystery to it. They geared the movie towards kids instead of families and it bombed really bad for any adult fans watching. Putting in cheesy jokes turned a lot of people off too.
