THE WORST BIG SCREEN BATMAN VILLAIN

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ei5aU4kuZ7M

The all time worst of the worst of Batman's big screen rogues gallery in the worst of the worst of Batman's big screen adaptations.

Tom Hardy, eat your heart out.

The original big screen Bane didn't leave behind big shoes to fill.

This Bane was awful as the movie that he starred in.

B&R Bane was pretty much a mindless henchman. At least IIRC he looked fairly accurate.

To tell you the truth I have no clear cut idea towards why Bane could've possibly been portrayed like that. It isn't exactly like Joel Schumacher had sheer and utter contempt for the character like Sam Raimi had towards Venom when he was making Spider-Man 3. I recall that Schumacher wasn't fully aware of the character until his godson told him about him.

I'm assuming that Bane was put in there as a means of raising the merchandising potential. Because naturally, having three supervillains (Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, and Bane) instead of two like in Batman Returns and Batman Forever, could possibly mean that more toys and what not could be sold. Also, I'm guessing that it would've been awkward for Batman and Robin to actually engage in a physical confrontation with a woman like Poison Ivy, so Bane was put in there as a way for them to fight Poison Ivy by proxy.
