Why doesn't he do the same for Phantom of the Opera?

Imagine if he was hired today, WB would never hire somebody who only wanted to do Year One nothing more especially if they were only two or three films into a series and would likely hire a genre filmmaker who would be open to doing the middle years of Batman with Robin and fighting super villains.
