BIGGEST PLOTHOLE EVER?????

I've wondered about this from the moment I left the movie theater after seeing this movie and the topic was brought up but never answered by a previous poster so I'll just paste his question here:

"When Shaker "rescues" the kid, the kid listens to him as he identifies himself as a cop. When Shaker is in Mullen's house to collect the reward, the kid listens to him also, but this time he recognizes his voice and pees in terror, which tipped Mullen thus giving the next twist in the story . Why didn't he recognize him before? "

This gigantic plothole by a big name director is inexcusable, what was Opie thinking?? To me, this ruined what to that point was a very enjoyable movie.

It's not really a plot hole. During the rescue there are sirens, flash bangs and a lot of people shouting when the ESU bursts into the room and Shaker screams "I'm a cop". The kid wouldn't recognize Shaker's voice through all the commotion and with Shaker shouting one sentence. It's not until he hears Shaker talking in the tone he heard while being held that he finally recognizes it. That's far from a gigantic plot hole.

Sorry bit off topic.

I think it was just stupid plot that kid's peeing would tell that the guy was the leader. Maybe he peed because he just connected the guy's voice to rescue moment, which must have been mix of strong confused feelings. No one could have told whether it was just post-traumatic confusion or something. Child's mind may go badly off track. Would you believe a hero cop or a traumatized child?

However even the rescue scene was just stupid.

To the OP, I'm curious why you direct your question primarily to the director. Why not to the screenwriters?

It should be against the law to use 'LOL'; unless you really did LOL!

the biggest plothole is the kid not screaming his headoff when he gets picked up in the middle of a busy place in the first place.
