sharethis is an awesome popcorn movie and has the added bonus of having Pamela Anderson kick butt throughout. Cheesy, yet fun.
shareI liked the movie. I thought Pamela's acting abilities was fair. The thing that bothered me in the movie was that on the cover of the DVD that I bought it gives away that Charlie is brutally killed and that Barb can no longer stay passive in the war and says therefore herself willing to team up with an earlier enemy, Axel Hood.
My problem with this is that her brother is not killed until later in the movie. The movie's main plot is not clear, because there is such a focus on how Barb is running her nightclub in the begining.
The movie had great action sequences. But they made the mistake of having too muck Pam Anderson and not enough Barb Wire.
shareguy pins BW to wall with chair, BW slides to floor hits guy in nuts. Best fight move ever !!
shareI really enjoy this movie, I bought the vhs video when it came out, I bought the laser disk when that came out and I also have the dvd. Pam makes the movie fun as hell and she was hot as can be in the movie. I LOVE the unrated version!
shareI like it, it not that bad. Its on A channel (London, Ontario) right now.

I will say it is HARD to believe no one liked the BARBWIRE.....movie. I think it is a nice piece of SCI FI ART material. and I do say I want to see ROAD WARRIOR 4 or BARBWIRE II. Sci FI future is far out. What would MAD MAX 4 be without Mel Gibson or BARBWIRE two be without PAM L ANderson ? or Star Wars with out the darkside? It is a better film in her work history , fact ! I am glad she done it , caause I get tired of hearing about BAYWATCH like I get tired of trying to forget who shot JR!
Did you just liken Barb Wire to Star Wars. I hope no Star Wars geeks show up. Because, ooooooohhhh! The thrashing they'll give yooooooouuuuuuu! Oh, yeah.
shareI am totally with you Billy - I love this movie for all the wrong reasons!! I like the strange everything, Pam looks amazing in all the leather and the pvc - which I love personally to wear (too bad I don't have the same affect - LOL!!)I think she looked awesome before the surgeries but that's a personal choice many non-actors make, too: if you feel better about yourself or career, do it!! I like the post-apoc movies, too - the electro-torture scene was neat. I like the opening scene and the soundtrack. If anyone finds a Barb Wire t-shirt please contact me!!

Hah! I accidentally caught this on TV once (probably during a basball game rainout) and discovered the most amazing thing about this film - its plot line is inspired by one of the best films ever made - CASABLANCA (No. 6 on IMDB's all-time Top 250 list, with 8.8/10 stars). Since I am such a huge fan of that movie, I couldn't resist getting a copy of this one as a sort of joke. And that is as close as I get to liking this silliness - its value as a parody of something I truly do like.
sharei liked it a little. Fight Scenes were ok. Plot was slow and week but Pammy made it all better for me. I bought the movie for the opening scene alone. Thats the olny part of the movie i ever watch. Man she is SEXY!

I absolutely love this movie! And I think Pam was the perfect choice to play Barb, seems how noone else has the body to fit into a female comic book hero!
shareIt's unfairly panned, I think. I've seen it several times on local television (a fate reserved for films that didn't make any money upon release) and - comparing it to other action films - it's almost serious cinema. It's a ridiculous double standard that a film with as good of cinematography and production values as this is considered somehow more cheesy than 'Commando'. I never once heard any line uttered by Pamela Anderson even remotely approaching the tounge-in-cheek ridiculousness of "Let off some steam, Bennett". But look at Commando's rating on imdb, rottentomatoes.com, and others, and tell me that this movie has honestly been given a fair shake.
For the most part, this is actually a slick action film, and the filmmakers don't let Pamela Anderson ruin it with her bad acting. She just has to scowl, look attractive, and be involved in lots of well-choreographed action sequences, and within that realm, she actually excells. Maybe it's just my latent weakness for the cyberpunk genre, and the fact that the run-down junkyard future recalls feelings of Escape from New York, but I find this movie very entertaining.
