Yeah ... I rented it, laughed a lot, then picked up a used copy at a rental store a few months later. I have over 200 titles in my video collection, and this one has the lowest IMDb rating ... haven't watched it in over a year, but then, it's one I like to share with folks who've never seen it. :-)

It's cheesy pulp, but it has its moments ... besides, I think that everyone should have at least one Really Bad movie in their collection ... I'd say that I like it about as much as "Alien Avengers", which is also just a notch above MST3K's level of Bad Taste.

"Zathras have very sad life. Probably have very sad death. But, at least, there is symmetry."

I caught it about three years ago and got really pi$t off at how much it had been slated on release. Pamela Anderson can't act to save her life, but (intentionally or not) it suits a trashy Cyber Punk movie based on an OTT comic perfectly well "Leave your brain at the entrance, sit back, and enjoy the show" as they say. I'm still thinking of giving it zero though, see if I can't get it to #1 worst movie...

Does this movie contain Oscar winning performances? No
Does Pams catsuit contain her breasts? No again
Pam is a legend of Pop culture that will (probably) be remembered fondlingy in the future as a less troubled Marilyn. I love Marilyns films to and I think that her acting is wooden... with some personalities this can be excused, because their charisma is so vivavious in other ways that sometimes, it just doesnt matter. Besides, she has big jugs (of orange juice for breakfast... so I'm told.... By the builder that stole her home videos)

Does Pams catsuit contain her breasts? No again

LOL :-)
but... do you mind?

I think this is probably the worst movie I have ever seen.

There are a million fine girls in the world, but they don't all bring you lasagna at work.

SECOND SECOND, HERE HERE,this is the worst movie ever, its not even action, its closer to a softcore movie, pam's boobs were filling the screen that I couldn't see the movie because of them, lol
well, I hate that kind of movies where everyone thinks him/herself the hotshot one
also its kinda reminds me of mad max, though pam is not mel Gebson :), and also the 1st mad max was produced in 1979, I see better directing in it

I like watching this movie, I admit, mainly because of the gorgeous Pamela Anderson in all those sexy leather outfits. I'd like to correspond with another fan too. If anyone wants to, my address is [email protected] (but I don't suppose anybody will).

This was a really good movie! as for the ratings! well i really dont care about ratings!, you have to make up your own mind!, i really enjoyed the alternate future, where the world just goes to s##t!, but humanity survives!
and steve railsback is a classic villian!
i really was not dissapointed with pam, yeah she isnt oscar material, but i really think she was perfect for the role!
i was wondering if barb wire was originally a comic series, and if so who was the publisher and how many issues came out?
does anyone know?

when is this movie gonna be shown on a movie channel not reageler cabel channels i hate how they edit stuff

reply

Actually, I'm a fan of Pamela Anderson's boobs, and that's about it. They're great. They should of shared the Best Actress Oscar...it's an utter travesty that they didn't.

reply

i liked this movie purely because i have a thing for movies set post apocalypse/nuclear war/plague.

I am. I did like the movie.

Sure there are better actresses but none would make a better character. Someway along those lines, only Sly could have made the Rambo movies.

Attack on a male dominant Fascist Society. I love it! I think Barb Wire is great for a heroine trying to survive in a society
where women are being imprisoned in a fascist male dominant society,
thus the cage and barb wire motif. Don't call me babe! She
is not your baby, she is the new feminist woman and deserves respect.
The alpha female will kill you without pity for not looking at her with
new eyes. The blind, the eye, and the new vision motif is important,
thus the contact lenses, eye retinal identification, and a friend who
is blind after the war with the facists.

Im a fan of the opening scene

A great feminist movie? Have you forgotten that it's PAMELA ANDERSON -a woman that men love and feminists hate- in a film about her body.. another thing feminists hate and men love.

Your retarded if you think feminists should like this movie.

reply

I'm a feminist and I like this movie!

reply

Tell me, what feminist themes did you like the most in this movie? The idea that a woman should use her body to get what she wants?

reply

Yeap...I really like the movie.....Pam looks great and I'm into motorcycles..so I like the picture.

reply

I think it is great! id give 7/10. I want it on DVD but can't find it in the UK :-(

reply

I bought the video yesterday, for £1.
It really isn't too bad. Out of the millions of films, I don't think it should be in the Bottom 100 - there's millions more BAD films I can think of, which are worse than "Barb Wire."
I mean, yeah, the film has bad acting and cheesy lines, but it also has big explosions, great action scene and Pamela in a leather suit!
