Toy Story 3- the best out of the 3?

Hey guys,
I just wanted to see if everyone unanimously thought TS3 was the best.

To me it was very close between TS3 and TS1. Don't get me wrong. All 3 were amazing cinematic achievements that will be treasured by kids for years on end.

Toy Story 2 was probably the weakest out of the 3 for me, but in no shape or form bad. It had the peril(to a lesser extent than 3), the adventure, the thoughts and contemplation of the future( A toy's fate), and of course the characters. The only thing it seemed to lack was the emotion like the first and the third one had. Probably the most touching scene was the flashback with Emily and Jessie. Overall, the characters still grew and developed as well as the story.

To me, the essence of Toy Story was always TS 1. The bond between Woody and Buzz is hands down explored the most in this one as well as the thought of being replaced. Great story, introduced all of the great characters with thier own personalities, amazing music, and adventure(peril). I think this one had the most chracter developement out of the 3; particularly with Buzz and Woody towards the end. It was ground breaking for its time, not only for the technical acheivements, but for such a unique concept that was so unique that would have been awesome even if done by traditional Disney animation (non-cg).

Toy Story 3- I don't think I have to go into much detail on this board of why this one so great becasue everyone on here has done that already. The most heartfelt and emotional of the 3, the most clever and complex story of the 3, characters are put into struggle (most perilous of the 3) and you actually feel and care what happens to each of them. 1. Incinerator scene- enough said and 2. the end was probably one of the best conclusions in the history of trilogies.

Its still hard for me to say which one is the best, but when I think toy story, I always think TS 1. TS 3 is definitely up there, but I guess we will see how it fares the test of time because TS 1 passes it with flying colors.

Just interested to see how people feel on this...

I have only seen TS3 once and that was some time ago. I recently watched the first two, so I would have to re-examine the 3rd one again before I said whether it was the best or not.

I actually think Toy Story 2 is the best out of them. Just a perfect sequel.

I have an unbelievably long ignore list.

I honestly think Toy Story 1 is the most emotionally complex because there just feels like there's more emotions on display with the jealousy which eventually morphs into friendship and Buzz's identity crisis. The other 2 almost feel simple in comparison to it. I also think there's more peril because it's the only film where the toys are really against each other, whereas the last 2 focus on friendship. Sid's house is also a genuinely scary place, whereas Al's Toy Barn and Sunnyville have a more fun aspect to them.

Then... speak of the devil and the devil appears.

It's easy to see why so many would say that Toy Story 3 is the best of the series, but I can't get away from the original because, quite frankly, I believe it is the greatest animated film ever made. Aside from its beautiful animation and excellent story, Toy Story completely changed the landscape of animated films forever and made animated movies possibly the bankable films in the industry. Granted, animated movies always had the appeal to the younger audiences, which obviously means good money, but Toy Story spawned a new animated style and story structure that draws in both younger and older audiences like never before.

Nope, it was the worst by some distance.

All 3 were great but part 1 is or course a classic and one of the best. I would rank it like this....

Toy story 1
Toy story 3
Toy Story 2

The only thing about Toy Story 3 that gets me is the ending it was sad seeing him say goodbye to his toys, but like the one poster 10 poster ahead said it was cheesy. I was like Andy just keep the toys he did stay out there for a while playing with the toys.

I find myself enjoying the first one the least.

Not because it's bad or because I dislike it. I think it's just because it serves as an introduction to characters I am now very used to. Also, I prefer it when Buzz and Woody are friends.

But all three are very good films. The fourth has a lot to live up to.
