Tommy Boy vs Billy Madison
My roommate and I were arguing which is better so I decided to go to imdb and see other people's opinions.
I may be biased but I say...Billay!

IMHO, not even close - Tommy Boy was a classic.
shareNot even close. Tommy Boy is really good, well written, well acted. While the premise is far fetched, there is enough realism in it to make it believable.
I watch it again every so often.
Billy Madison is ridiculous, the jokes are nasty, the acting only fair. And the premise of it is totally unbelievable. Adam Sandler has made some funny movies, but BM is not one of them.
agreed
shareI like both alot but Billy Madison for me
sharetommy boy. billy madison is one of the worst movies ever made. adam can't act. go back to whatever u were doing before and leave acting to the pros.
shareUnless you CAN act,, who are you to say he can't? It sounds to me like you're just a bitter, jealous little douchebag who can't stand it when someone besides you is in the limelight.
shareThat's a cop out argument...
I couldn't play NFL ball, but I'm fully correct when I watch a receiver drop pass after pass and say "sheesh, he sucks, he can't hold onto a ball thrown right at him".

I completely agree with varmitydog. Adam Sandler has made some good movies but Billy Madison isn't one of them. I watch it to laugh sometimes but still.
Tommy Boy really is out there, but there's a heart to the picture and GOOD ACTING, like how frustrated Richard is as that downtrodden, anal, right-hand man and Tommy's ending dialogue with his father, even as it's broken by a mast to the head.
Billy Madison, by comparison, is just a *beep* Adam Sandler movie full of senseless crap like boobies and phantom penguins and bad acting with a worthless plot.
They are both hilarious SNL actor movies, and both very funny. I'm going to have to go with Billy Madison though.
shareI like them both but I like BM just a little bit more. Im not a big fan of Adam Sandler and I really wasnt even a fan of him in BM but it was the other characters that I found hilarious. Obviously Farley as the bus driver was classic, Rollo the Janitor was great, Norm Mcdonald's character was good and I especially liked Bradley Whiford's character. Eric was the perfect villain. Also the Principal at the high school was hilarious during the whole decathalon thing. I pretty much use a variation of a quote from Billy Madison almost everyday.

O-kay, who'd like a banger in the mouth?
Me I would say I slightly prefer Tommy Boy over Billy Madison but I do love both movies
shareTommy Boy..Billy Madison is highly overrated...i prefer Happy Gilmore.
shareeither way farley an spade need to star in a new movie sooon!
sharefarleys dead. Anyway, i never thought about that. In a way, these two have very similar comedy styles, but Tommy BOy is hilarious. However, when i was younger, i was too impatient to find the comedy in tommy boy, which is why i liked movies like scary movie. but now that i'm more mature in a way, i don't n eed to hear someon say "o look, balls!" to be entertained. So i liked them both better than the other but at different times.

OH DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE!
I'll have to say Billy Madison, but its very close...

Billy Madison was absolute insanity. Tommy Boy was a straight a to b comedy. Either one could have been mediocre, but they were instead amazing feats. I couldn't chose one over the other. I think they belong in different categories. Categories where they are on top.
Tommy Boy is better by a long shot. Besides Billy Madison is nowhere near as good as Happy Gilmore.
