Who is funnier, Chris Farley or Adam Sandler? While Sandler is very funny I think Farley is far funnier. Who knows what else he would have come up with if he had not died.

Chris Farley is way funnier. The greatest tragedy to comedy was the day Chris Farley died of an overdose. Also Mitch Hedberg not a real well known comedian died recently of an overdose as well. You would think that the drug free ads would show advertisements on the movies like BLack sheep tommy boy when they are on tv.
You want to talk about awkward moments once when having sex with Lois I cried out Frank.
mitch hedberg didn't die of an overdose. he died of heart failure due to a childhood heart conditioned that was worsened by his drug use. he was not the raging druggy that farley was, but paid a similar price.
as for the argument, farley is incomparably funnier than sandler. sandler is a one trick pony, with silly noises and dick jokes. he completely stopped being funny after the wedding singer. he's a complete hack who makes the same movie over and over again in which he plays the same exact character. goofy loser, meets the girl, problem arises, ends up getting her in the end.
farley was a brilliant physical comedian, but still knew how to play with the audience. he made his characters seem real and people related to them. he was energetic and genuine.
Both styles are too different to be broken down as greatest.

dont be so quick to diss on billy madison bit*h, while tommy boy is one of my favorite movies of all time, so is billy madison. adam sandler may not have the most intelligent comedy but he knows what entertains people, and thats what counts.

movie-wise, in their peak in the mid-nineties (Black Sheep & Tommy Boy vs Billy Madison & Happy Gilmore), I don't think you could call one better than the other, although Farley had Spade, Sandler didn't need a double-act. Would Farley have been as good without Spade? We'll never know.
But Sandler went totally dry, and went for mushy romantic comedy bling rather than juvenile hilarity that would have preserved his cult status, but might not have gotten him that extra 10 condos in Maui. Same as ben stiller. Whilst beverly hills cop was a dud, I think it's pretty safe to say that if Farley hadn't wasted away he wouldn't be as crap as Sandler has been in the past 6 or 7 years.
had chris farley not hade david spade his movies wudnt have been as good or as funny. they made the perfect duo. now adam sandler doesnt need a side man b/c he funny by him self as he has been for ever. if he had a side man he might not be as funny as he is. nd if u really paid attention to billy madison chris was in that movie as a bus driver. they had a funny part in that so they prolly cudve been a duo.

Also, Farley only made three movies with Spade, "Coneheads", "Black Sheep", And, of course, "Tommy Boy". However, only the last two really had both of them as the leading characters. Farley was definatly funnier than Sandler. Also, it's not fair to say that Sandler went down-hill and it's not fair to analyze the two with movies, Sandler's, made after Farley's death. But Back in the day, Farley ruled. Also take into consideration, Farley was orginally the voice actor for Shrek.

Adam Sandler used to be funny, but his humor got old...really fast. Farley will always be one of the funniest actors of all time in my opinion. His movies all have the same kind of humor too, but its much funnier than sandler, even though billy madison, happy gilmore, and the wedding singer were hilarious.

Adam was funny, but Chris was always WAY funnier, at least to me. Although, the two had different types of humor; Farley had more "physical" humor, whilist Sandler had more "verbal" humor. You can't really easily compare the two because different people like different types of comedy.
I named my dog Callahan because Tommy Boy is the best movie ever.

yea those are good, i also like belushi and a lot of others like akroyd, will ferrel is great, so is mike myers, but im so relieved jimmy fallon wasn't on the list, i didnt like him on snl at all, and he has not had a good movie ever, (well actually when i started to say that i didnt know this was a list of movie snl people, but now that i do, this still is true)
Farley definately takes the cake. He's so fat and stupid... he's gotta be funny.

Chris Farley is wwwwwwaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy funnier. Adam Sandler is so annoying, he doesn't even compare to the idioticy and hilariousness of Farley. Also, John Candy is amazing (It's too bad two of may favorite comedians, Candy and Farley, both died); Chevy Chase, Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn are also in my top five, but the cake of my two fave comedians go to Farley and Candy.

shareI really don't think it's fair to compare the two of them. Farley didn't make enough movies, unfortunately. They each had a style that's all their own.
Enjoy the movies for what they are: entertainment, and honor Farley in that fashion.

Farley was definately funnier, and sadly his legacy will probably be better because he died. If he were living today there's a good chance he would have gone on to make some crappy movies, like some of Sandler's movies have been lately. It's a terrible tragedy that Farley died like he did and I was incredibly sad when it happened, but I'll probably remember him in higher regard because he burned out and didn't fade away.
