Okay, I'm trying to unravel the mystery of what happened to Chun Li's breasts in the shower scene. I'm guessing it was left out for the DVD version, even the unrated one, and only exists on the old VHS tapes that aren't even dubbed. Can anyone tell me this for sure? I would appreciate your help. If you're so hung up on them, get the Region 2 'Special DVD Edition'. It's completely uncut.
shareIf I remember right, the shower scene wasn't the only thing cut. For some reason, they also cut out the part where she throws a Kikoken at Vega (or Balrog if ya wanna use his Japanese name).

Actually, that's not in the final film in ANY version. I have the Japanese version on laserdisc (and have for the better part of a decade now), and that scene never happens.

The scene where Chunli finishes Balrog off with her Kikouken after the Hyakuretsu Kyaku is only in the manga version of Street Fighter II MOVIE. The anime only has her finishing him off with a force kick that knocks him through the wall.
An interesting note: In the managa version, after being knocked out of the building by Chunli's Kikouken, Balrog landed on a tree, thus survives the assault. At that time, T.Hawk, DeeJay, & E.Honda happened to passed by and asked if he's all right. Balrog warns the "grotesque Indian, repulsive black man, and the ugly kabuki guy..." (Hawk, DeeJay, & Honda respectively) to get away from him. Insulted by the heinous remark, the three bum-rushed him simultaneously. Balrog's fate is unknown after this incident.
According to the filmmakers, they removed Chun-Li's Kikouken because they wanted a very clear hierarchy in terms of the strength of the characters. It was originally planned but once they had it in, they figured that Vega/Balrog would've been too powerful if he could withstand a chi/ki/spirit attack and keep fighting whereas the other attacks (Ryu/Ken's Hadouken, Bison/Balrog's Psycho Power, Guile's Sonic Boom) were very powerful.
BTW, in the new R1 Uncut release, Chun-Li's extended nude scenes were edited into the US/UK dub but since they weren't there originally and they couldn't extend the soundtrack, its edited in and is very short whereas the R2 on the other side has the whole thing...

funny you metnioned that. I am converting over to dvd a subtitled version of the film that was taken from the Japanese uncut laserdisc back in 94 (some group though added the subtitles).
From what I gather the new 2 disc anchor bay set (region 1) is fully uncut like the older Jap laserdisc. I just have this feeling that maybe some of the japanese track was altered or whatever. You can not trust companies to release things properly anymore, which is why I am glad I still have this tape from the Jap laser--
