1995 was such a great year

Between this Heat, Bravehart, The Usual Suspects, To Die For, Get Shorty, Crimson Tide, Dead Man Walking, Leaving Las Vegas, Die Hard With a Vengance,
Lot of great stuff that year.

Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight is definitely up there as far as guilty pleasures from that year. Mallrats as well

Strange days

1994 was actually better I think.

Forrest Gump
Pulp Fiction
The Shawshank Redemption
Clerks
Natural Born Killers
The Professional
Quiz Show
Toy Story
Lion King
Dumb and Dumber
Ace Ventura
The Mask

No way, 1993 was the best:

Jurassic Park
Groundhog Day
Cliffhanger
The Fugitive
Schindler’s List
Mrs Doubtfire
In The Line Of Fire
Philadelphia
Demolition Man
Wayne’s World 2
Carlito’s Way
Alive
The Remains Of The Day
Kalifornia
In The Name Of The Father
Dazed and Confused
True Romance

You’d be lucky to get one film as good as any of them per decade now.

The objective decline in cinema, and culture, is undeniable.

reply

Oh come on now there've been several movies this decade better than Demolition Man and Wayne's World 2.

reply

Such as?

reply

News of the World, Tenet, Let Him Go, Copshop, Nobody, The Batman, The Northman, The Killer, Killers of The Flower Moon, Civil War and Longlegs.

reply

Those are all mediocre at best, apart from Flower Moon which is top quality… but a taxing 3.5 hour slog. No way do the others match anything on the 1993 list.

reply

I was just saying I agree with you except for those 2 movies.

reply

I’d put WW2 and Demolition Man above all of them. If I had to pick one from your list which is our ‘one per decade’ it would be Flower Moon.

Atrocious that decent films are that rare now.

Great year
