Angels with pedophile tendancies?

Did anyone get a little grossed out by Simon's interaction with the buck-toothed little girl? It was like he was trying to seduce her and how he transferred the soul to her was a little too much. Comments?

Questions?

Well technically angels are about 6000 years old creatures, and even if simon kissed 100 years old woman,he still remained pedophile :D :D

I think one of the themes of this movie is that Angels have (at best) ambiguous loyalties. They're not all happiness and light (as Gabriel proves). The audience perhaps wants to believe that Simon is a good guy, but I feel like that scene was filmed in such a way as to play on the audience's fear that maybe Simon's not 100% good after all.

Also, from the little girl's perspective, it's a matter of faith. She can't be sure the guy has good intentions, even though he's being friendly - it's just something she's gotta take a chance on.

And perhaps that innocence (emphasized by her vulnerability in this scene) is what makes her the ideal vessel for the dark soul. Would the detective and the teacher have gone to such great lengths to save somebody less sympathetic, before understanding just how much is at stake? Although it didn't seem like Simon had much choice in picking a vessel, he might have holed up at that school for a reason.

I just saw this film recently a few weeks ago and thought it was creepy how he kissed the little girl on the lips, he did sound like a pedo lol his all very nice, wants her to keep a secret then kisses her big time. When my mum saw that scene she didn't know what the film was about and she was shocked and said "oh no" i told her it's not what you are thinking, i told her it was a angel transforming a spirit to her. But it was a uncomfortable scene.

Here is the scene i found: (kissing part at the end of video)

Just watched this movie... and there was nothing weird at all imo. He/They acted how they should have "And obviously chatted to each other in rehearsals/planning".
Verdict = Normal acting with no apparent weirdness.

You guys make it sound like this is an amazing movie.

I'm watching it now and it just cannot hold my attention.

The first appearance from the redhead angel dude was pretty bad acting.

I feel like this movie just doesn't hold up well at all, hence everyone getting all uptight about pedo stuff.

P.S.

I completely agree, everyone in america is ready to call pedo, rape, sexual assult, pervert at the drop of a hat... and I know because I'm here

Yeah, that was gross, to actually have the actor kissing a child like that. I thought they would cut away before it happened but they didn't.

OP is the kind of person who sees a guy on a park bench watching kids play and immediately thinks they're a pedophile, not a father watching his kids play.

Or in other words, the reason society is going to sheet.

You've gotta be Americans. Let's make a mountain out
of a molehill.

Nothing yucky about the violence and eye plucking out
then.

You see sex or perversions around every corner which just goes to show your state of minds.

Spot on. And that goes for non-sexual nudity as well. If a film has a scene with small children swimming or playing naked, then is "child porn". Or if is an adult, again, in a non-sexual situation, then is "gratuitous nudity" that shouldn't had been filmed. But violence? The more the better.

I just finished watching this movie. Pedophilia didn't cross my mind when that scene came on. So I was surprised when I come here and saw this topic. I really shouldn't have been surprised.

If someone came into a room, where a tv or video screen was showing this movie, right at that point where Simon breathed Hawthorne's soul inside the girl, someone, most anyone, would think "Is this guy a pedophile, or what??" Same with Gabriel sitting kids on his knee, looking into their mouths, and having them blow on his trumpet. You gotta know what is going on before making a judgment like that, but i am sure many assumptions would say ?"Eww! They're pedophiles!"
