You too? :D I saw it in theaters when I was seven, and I had a wicked crush on both of them, which I didn't understand until I was a lot older. But, yeah, I agree that there's at least some lesbian subtext to the good girly girl running away with the big bad tomboy, if I'm remembering that part of the movie correctly.

I have to agree in that when I first saw Jody, I could have sworn she was a boy. Until I realized, oh wait, she has what appear to be boobs lol. It was a slow, entertaining-ish movie and helped me fall asleep. The acting is also decent considering the lead characters comprise of children. Lesbian undertone, or no undertone? I assume would lie in the eye of the beholder. For me, it was just two little kids doing crazy mischievous things that we, as children once, should be able to relate to. Minus the criminal record, ofcourse lol.
sharehonestly, there is no question in my mind that the subtext is completely there. i did a whole project about it in a class I took a few years ago. this is probably the gayest movie i've ever seen.
