Saddest ending ever!

I really liked this movie, it was a somber, moving fantasy drama. I'd agree with others here about the emotions evoked by this film.

That said, of all the movies I've seen this film certainly has the saddest ending. At the end Fluke realizes how he wasn't a very good father, and concedes that he would get in the way of his family's happiness if he stayed with them, so he must go away. It's just so sad that he had to leave behind his family.

Its a great film and I really do wonder why its not
mentioned more.

One of the saddest endings of all time imo - I will
admit it bringing a lump to my throat.

The film is also partnered by some great music which also added
to the sad ending.

A 1st class film, very brilliant!

in my opinion the music was a little weak, a little awkward in some scenes. But even so the movie is still very entertaining, this is a tearjerking gem.

reply

A real tearjerker indeed - one truly poignant film

A lump to your throat? This movie made me cry my eyes out when I first saw this! I believe I was 10, but it's on Animal Planet right now, and I'm watching it again. One of my favorite movies ever.

I'm a grown adult, and yet I've never experienced such a heartbreaking film, especially at the end. This film really reduced me to tears.

So painfully sad....

reply

Yeah I know what ya mean. It was heartbreaking wasn't it? Honestly, I cried over it. Yeah I know, I'm a sap. lol

I cried too ;) and I'm a badass

Two movies have movied me either to tears or damn close (that's discounting the ones that are either that damn funny or just that damn bad), 'Forrest Gump' (which I saw when I was about 13, so that's just about acceptable)... and this one, which I first saw about a year ago.

I'm 23.

That's really bad. This movie simply rules, though. For the type it is, it's the one that touched me the most.

I'm not gay by the way. Honest.

I rented 'Fluke' yesterday and I cried like a baby (lol). The ending is so sad! Beautiful movie.

You forgot the part where his wife is standing in the graveyard where the dog takes some snow off of his tombstone, and his wife finally realized what he was trying to say.

reply

Good gosh, ever since I was 6 or 7 this movie has been labeled as "The First Movie Ever To Make Me Cry My Eyes Out". It's such an adorable movie, but I can barely watch the end.

reply

I watched this back in 97, I remember it was very touching, and the ending did indeed bring a tear to my eye. :)
