I remember watching this film when I was 11, Im 16 now and I still cry at this movie. When Rumbo dies my eyes start pouring, such a sad but brilliant movie. Heres my top 5 films that i cry at...
5. Saving Private Ryan (Millers "earn this" talk) [EYES WATERED] 4. Forrest Gump (When Forrest finds out he has a son) [CRIED ONCE] 3. LotR : Fellowship of the Ring (Boromirs death) [CRIED ONCE] 2. The Green Mile (John Coffey shaking Paul Edgecomb's hand) [CRY EVERYTIME] 1. Fluke (Rumbo dying) [CRY EVERYTIME]
This movie (many different parts of it) are 100% guaranteed to make me cry every single time I see it. -Tied with it for that honor is Steel Magnolias. -My other top 3: All Dogs go to Heaven (especially the end, where Anne Marie asks, "Charlie, will I ever see you again?" and says, "Charlie, I love you"); To Dance with the White Dog (kind of like Fluke--an old man's wife dies and returns to him as a dog; sad and beautiful in the same way as Fluke); and yet ANOTHER animal movie that gets me: Homeward Bound. (Shadow in the hole=;_;). My #1 favorite movie overall is Kill Bill, but though it floods me with emotion I don't think I've cried....well, wait, yes. I lie. I probably did cry when Beatrix met Bebe.
I saw this movie when it originally came out and remembered loving it. I just watched it right now for the first time since seeing it in theaters and I cried twice during it. Such a sad movie!
1. Graveyard of Fireflies. (I dare ANYONE to see this and not cry) It is a Japanese animation set during WWII after the fire bombings. I cried when his mother and sister died.
2. 5 people you'll meet in Heaven Excellent movie, I would watch the movie first then the book, both are excellent. Not a dry eye during the entire movie
3. Click While I usually HATE Adam Sandler but he suprised me with this film. It stepped outside his original slap stick. It has the toilet humor but the moments when he realized how much he has missed...the tears just flow.
4. Gone with the Wind When Bonnie Blue died and when Melanie died. A classic that everyone should own. Also pick up Scarlet it is EXCELLENT.
5. love actually Just a beautiful film. It turned me on to British films. Hugh Grant, and Keira Knightly are sweet in the film. Liam Nielsen at his best!
Would love to hear some more good tearjerkers
Steel Magnolias was good but I can't stand Sally Field's break down. I just wanted to slap her. Everyone else was great though.
i dont think i can think of any five particular movies, at the time, but i certainly did cry when rumbo died, and when fluke scratches the snow off his tombstone and it says "always remember" i totally got chills and teared!!
and of course moulin rouge, when christian cried and satine died.
um maybe rent, and probably any disney movie that had an event happen that was sad (ex: The Lion King, Mufasa's death; The Beauty and the Beast, Beast's 'death'). I dont even want to think about it. :(
Yes! How can anyone not cry during this movie? ;_;
Hmm, I'm very empath-ish when it comes to extreme emotional sadness in movies, not that I'll cry for anything but if its something (a scene or etc) that means a lot to me, and/or I can feel how much the moments mean to the characters, then yea, major tears!
So if I had to pick a top5 of tearjerkers...
5. Meet Joe Black (especially the last hour. GAH) 4. LotR3:RotK (again, especially the last hour!) 3. Lion King (seriously. and it is my fave movie of all time) 2. Titanic (no explanation needed, right?) 1. Fluke (the entire movie!!)
Sure, there's more... including, like someone said, the end of Ghost, All Dogs Go To Heaven (1 & 2)- *sigh* Others for me include WHiTEFANG, Balto, Homeward Bound the Incredible Journey, A Walk To Remember, the ends of Face/Off and Con/Air, etc. Oh and of course that one song from Oliver & Company- "Once Upon a Time in New York City" when Oliver is being swept away in the rain! ;_; Okay, back to working on my Fluke musicvid... @_@ heh.
vMARS, you'll be CHARMED when you get LOST in SMALLViLLE :: musicvideos @ http://dear.to/luv
I don't usually cry at movies but the one I totally agree with is "Grave of the Fireflies". Took me literally 3 years to get over that one. Didn't help that I had a daughter the same age of the sister in the movie.
And the other one was "The Time Travelor's Wife". Getting the chance to see that person you love so much one last time left me in shambles.
This is for the first viewing of the movie, as it should be:
Hilary and Jackie (last half of movie - true story) The Incredible Journey (1963 - mostly ending) The Fly 2 (dog) The Onion Field (field of onions) Robinson Crusoe (Luis Bunuel version - mainly last two minutes)
Top film that could have made me cry if made by a European filmmaker:
Fluke
If you put me on ignore, then how can I notify you when I win the lottery?
