one of the worst movies ever

sorry but its on my top 5

reply

It is so incredibly bad that my friends and I were laughing uproariously through the key scenes, and now all I remember about it was how awful it was. Appalling. The gorillas were so fake.

Never saw Troll 2 or Monkeybone, I guess.

Always remember to wear a helmet when caving, and carry three light sources

Lol Troll 2 is terrible and people love it, they call it the best worst movie ever made. A guy I went to high school with is in it but that doesn't make me enjoy it at all. I'd call Troll 2 one of the top 5 worst movies ever made.

reply

I think it's pretty good movie

reply

I dont think its a bad movie at all. Its no a great movie, but its not bad either. An ok middle of the road popcorn flick with a nice matinée feeling to it. Its entertaining and watch able, but that's it.

Its far from being one of the worst movies ever.

reply

I watched it tonight and didn't think it was quite as bad as i had anticipated. 4/10.

Last night i watched 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' and 'Congo' was million times better than that.

(Note: I actually posted my thoughts on the "Orca" message board, but I think that post can be just as meaningful and effective here as well:)

Just an observation....

I'm finding that movies and "beauty" are very much alike.
It all comes down to "the eye of the beholder."

I found this film to be a fun past time... Which is exactly what a movie should be. This film is in no danger of being listed on AFI's 1000 best films of all time, it's not too thought provoking... No one involved in this film had to worry about what to wear to the Academy Awards ceremony... But I never found myself bored or looking at my watch a lot, wondering when this film would end. I'm not the biggest fan of Tim Curry, or anyone else in this film, so I really don't care if they come off looking "bad" or not. This is simply a "B" Picture... It's not high art... It's bubble gum for the eyes.

There is no greater sin to me then a boring, numbskull film...

Everyone I know bought into Avatar, and most everyone thought that film was the best thing since (Put in your favorite movie title here___________.)

Obviously, you can guess my feelings on that film.

I love these message boards... They are here for civil debate and to post ones' thoughts on a movie, for good or for ill.

Notice I didn't insult anyone because someone's opinion differs from mine.

This film entertained ME.

My, you're nosey, aren't you?

Watch Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Oh yeah, and incidentally they reference Congo on the show, from episode 802- The Leech Woman.

I still think it's a good movie.

Agreed, I would rate it up there as one of the worst. Myself and 3 companions thought it was complete rubbish and walked out of the movie theatre.

This is a corny movie. It had potential to be great if it was directed with another director and had a better script. Other than that, it's just your average, corny 90s summer flick. computer animation and CGI were still young then compared to what it is now. I did get teary eyed when Amy wanted to be with the other gorillas but they kept pushing here away. I felt sad for her. It did have a happier ending which was nice tho, lol.

I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and I'm all out of bubblegum. - They Live

It was an expensive enjoyable B movie. The way it was promoted like a masterpiece, which really brought out bad review crowd.

reply

Fun movie and not to be taken seriously --- a talking gorilla should be a big clue, even if computer generated speech. Probably a big promo for it and people disappointed by the gorillaspeak.

reply

The OP is right. Worst movie ever. This movie was so bad, I couldn't stop laughing at the dialogue in the theatre back in 95. No one even cared that I was cackling out loud from the stupidity of it. Probably because they were laughing their asses off too. To this day, the Stephen Hawking Amy device has me in stitches.

reply

Let me guess. You have never seen "Manos the Hands of Fate". At worse this movie is mediocre. No where close to the "Worst Movie of ALL TIME". I dare you watch any movie on the Bottom 100 if you want to talk about the worst.
