re-watching it tonight

it holds up very well.

I just rewatched it for at least the 50th time. Still amazing, still made me misty eyed multiple times. Still a masterpiece.

I know due to Mel being permanently blacklisted in Hollywood it would never happen, but with 2020 marking the 25th anniversary of Braveheart, I'd love to see it be re-released on the big screen again. I saw it twice in the theate in 95 and 96, but would love to see it again.

For what it's worth, Braveheart was supposed to be re-released I believe the 2nd to last week of March, I got tickets. Then the virus came and ruined it :(

There are always going to be people who don't like Mel and won't work with him, but it seems like his blacklist period could be said to have ended with Hacksaw Ridge. It was nominated for six Oscars and won two, and those are industry folks who do the voting.

Overkill on the botox!

As a complete work of FICTION, yes.

Watched a bit last night. The filmwork is truly gorgeous. Can't believe how good the movie still looks.

I agree it’s a great film, I don’t understand people who cry about the historical inaccuracy (of which there is plenty) if they want to know the real history either read a book or watch a documentary.

This is entertainment, and it’s movie making at its finest.
