Think hard. The best episode of the entire series was...?

I know there are well over a hundred episodes..It's likely that most of us have not seen them all..but if you could only keep ONE episode and then the series would... I don't know.. fall into a black hole? Which one would it be??

I pick "The Refuge", the episode where a man stumbles to snowbound cabin and is told the world has been hit by a never ending winter. Everyone turns out to be frozen in sleep and Sanford Vallé is the only one aware of this and is controlling them all.

P.S. I would try to steal a copy of "The Haven" as well

one i really liked was s2e6 "First Anniversary", where these alien females illusion lasts only a year before their husbands realize they are grotesque aliens. lol. as you're with this guy on his path to discovery you really feel the horror and disgust he experiences. imo it was great.

a more drama based one i really liked was s2e12 "Inconstant Moon" where they think the world is ending and this old couple gets together. it was a more light hearted one with actually a happy ending!>?! :D

there are so many greats. i love most of the vr ai robot ones where machines develop feelings and become vindictive, i remember there are several of those throughout.. and all the genetic engineering and conspiracy disease ones are great too. i think whats so great about this show is alot of it isnt THAT far fetched.. especially in regards to genetic engineering and what we are seeing in the world of today, its almost not even science 'fiction'. other shows like fringe might be a little similar, but fringe didnt have any of the intrigue i felt watching thru limits.

some of the space episodes are really good too, but alot are meh. i really liked a few of the end ones.. like the one where the entire universe is some kind of macro organism.. that was interesting. almost up to star trek or b5 calibur. also the sentient ships which enslave their human passangers for repairs was really good. so many more.. i made a text file of all the best ones but so hard to pick. hell a bunch of the religious blind faith ones are great. heh, maybe i should learn their titles lol :)

"Tribunal" without a doubt.

When I made this post, I wasn't meaning it to be picking a favorite kid as one person said. Just meant what episode sticks out to you. Kind of like that "what is the first thing that pops into your head when I say BLANK".
Cool to see everyone's responses. I do wonder what the general consensus is on the episodes that place in outer space. As much as I love the show, I rarely ever made it to the end of any of these episodes.

The space episodes were a very mixed bag. Some of them like "The Quality of Mercy" and "The Light Brigade" were excellent but most of them weren't great unfortunately.

I apologize, I did not mean my response to take away from a valid question, I only wanted to explain MY struggle to answer that question.
If I had to list some of my favorites, " Vanishing Act" is up there. I am sure I'll come up with others as I think about them.

I've been rewatching (or watching for the first time in some sense) and just finished season 3 and so far it would be The Camp.

Of the very few I've seen, the best to me, is Trial By Fire. It's unintended comedy gold in the fact that they are trying so hard to show off Bill and Hillary Clinton. But it also has great effects and very good sci fi and a very interesting premise. This one would be my favourite by far.

'Unnatural Selection'.

I thought this episode was exceptional, the GRS kids being one of TOL's finest, most plausible creations; and the most frightening.

I'd say "valerie 23" and "first anniversary" i love those two, can't make up my mind!

I have two favourites. The one with the scientist/doctor injecting himself with medical nanobots and they go nuts.

The other where the scientist makes a woman for himself and it becomes jealous and I think kills someone.

I could name many, but "The Conversion" speaks the most to me. When I saw it as kid for the first time, I got one of my older sisters to identify which song is played at the end and then I went out to buy my very first CD (Enigma - Return to Innocence). It's an episode that makes me think every time I see it and I'm pretty sure it will still make me think when I'm an old man.

"Quality of Mercy" is great but so harrowing, as is "A Stitch In Time" but I so loved the performance by Amanda Plummer that I have to go with "Stitch".

"Inconstant Moon". Season 2, Episode 12. April 12, 1996.

My favorite I remeber is one where this conventional, vanilla couple wind up staying in this house or commune run by a robed Ned Beatty. All the other residents have distinctly different personalities, and the personalities of everyone but Ned and the newbies are involuntarily swapped overnight.
