How did you get into the show?

For me, it might sound bad, but I first got into the show when I was flipping around the channels and came across the episode "Ares" from the first season. To be honest the reason it caught my attention was because Cory Everson's character was wearing next to nothing and it caught my attention (as it would any 13 year old boy) I started watching the show because of that reason, but after a couple of episodes I fell in love with the show along with Xena.

When I was in high school, I bought a TV at a garage sale for $25. My parents wouldn't let me have cable in my room, so I only got one channel (KADY in Ventura, CA). I saw the Action Pack ads, and I thought the Hercules movies looked idiotic. However, one night I found myself watching one of them, ashamed of myself for enjoying it. After that, I was hooked. I watched all the movies, and anxiously awaited the show when it was announced. Later, I realized this was Raimi and Tapert, which made me love it even more. I love this show and Xena. They were both excellent!!!!

Back when i was a kid, no more than 10 years old, they ran the show on ur local TV with local dubbing. I imediatelly fell in love with it and watched a lot of the episodes. Our local TV has a habit of showing all TV shows 1 season late, so they have time to make dubbing and whatnot, so its probably was late by then, but back then internet didnt exist here so we wouldnt have known anyway.
So i started watching herc and Xena on the show and being kdi didnt even noticed how corny it was. Rewatching it now as a 24 year old i got to appreciate what this show managed to do with what it had.

Watched it one Saturday because there was nothing on TV and it was winter time, slowly got into it. At the time in the mid 90's there were no hero's on TV other than Chuck Norris', 'Walker, Texas Ranger'. Kevin Sorbo made a person whether adult or child that hero's do exist, and his good looks were a bonus. I also followed through with Xena, which if I had to say if Tapert had wrote 'Xena' the way the show was written the first 3 seasons, I would give the edge over to 'Xena' as the better of the 2 shows, then Tapert started with the soap and melodrama during Season 4 and the show was ruined for me, then Tapert had to write his wife's pregnancy into the show and that forever altered the series.

'Herc' was good the first 4 seasons, I did not care for the Celtic or Norseland episodes, found them boring and did not care for the actress who played Morrigan.

As far as Hercules killing Zeus on 'Xena' originally that was suppose to be a Season 6 Hercules storyline, involving both shows as a cross over with the 'Twilight of the Greek Gods'. When Herc got an 8 episode order, the storyline was switched over to Xena, moving the 'Hercules' writers over to 'Xena', so that the 'Xena' writers could write 'Cleopatra 2525'. The Herc writers were clueless on how to write 'Xena'. Thankfully the Xena writing team came in during the final episodes to try and salvage the storyline, but it was to late. The pregnancy should never have been written in, Lucy could have hidden behind stuff and filmed a back story when Xena was pregnant with Solan or had Meg pregnant in an episode.

And I was a little disappointed with some of the direction that Herc also went after 'The Golden Hind' arc. It seemed that the only woman the Herc ever loved was Serena, and his first wife was rarely mentioned afterwards. Is it because Sam his girlfriend at the time and current wife played the part? I just loved how prior to the hind storyline, how Herc's heart and soul was on Deianeria.

I only watched it because there was nothing better in that timeslot. Even as a teenager I remember thinking it was complete cheese: weak scripts, crappy dialogue, scantily clad semi attractive people, embarrassingly awful accents from the New Zealand support cast. Total camp. But all that cheese became something of a guilty pleasure, then Xena came along and that was even worse, so naturally I had to watch that too.

I've always liked fantasy & mythology so when I saw this pitched, I watched it. I think I came in second season, though. I think I was in on Xena from the start

I don't remember. It could have been channel surfing or my interest in mythology. I remember the watching the movies, and glad they continued with the series. I also watched Xena to the end.

I was reading the tv guide and caught Xena and Hercules right from the beginning. The guide had interesting articles on new shows so I watched them.
