Is "True Lies" a mostly forgotten movie now?

There are arguably, several reasons for it to be ignored now: The racism, the sexism, and the stuff that came out during MeToo from Eliza Dushku.

But wasn't it mostly forgotten before all of this should have been an issue? Was Titanic coming along and being such a success the reason?

I don't think it was forgotten, it was good for its time and best left there, not really much more to take away from it; it's not even really controversial enough to be part of a current conversation about controversy.

It's not forgotten at all. It's a shining beacon of a bygone era where films were fun to watch. When bright ambitious writers and directors went above and beyond to make a quality film, rather than the films nowadays that are written by committees to try to appease globalists and indoctrinate the masses. Though I haven't seen it in a few years, I think of True Lies quite often.

I don't think it's forgotten. It's a James Cameron movie; okay there is Piranha II.

I mean it's almost 30 years old so people aren't talking about it. It's a fun and good movie, but it's not like it's a huge classic. I don't think it's forgotten to those that were around in the 90s, it's just well, 30 years old so it's not talked about a lot. I doubt younger folks are talking about it though. The same way young people in the 90's didn't talk about most films made in the 60's.
