Kind of boring for children

I remember seeing this in theatres back in the day and being quite bored. Its really not a movie for kids but adults will see it as a kids movie...so who was this movie aiming at?

reply

I was just listening to it and thought the same thing. I turned it on when Kris struck the guy on the street and was taken to the sanitarium and Dylan M was talking to him. I thought this is dull, hardly for kids.

then Perkins came in and was chewing out the store execs. I thought, is this aimed at kids?

reply

I don't think the original was necessarily aimed at kids, but it was alot peppier than this thing is amounting to be.

I first saw this movie at the cinema as a 10 year old child and enjoyed it very much. I wasn't bored during any part of it, from memory. I was at that age when I wasn't sure if Santa was real or not but this movie kept me believing (probably for an extra year) lol

It's been a holiday favorite of mine since it came out in '94 (when I was 10). So I guess it's different tastes for different people.

Well, I differenciate between kids-movies and family-movies, it's a family movie

I also was 10 when I saw it, and remember liking it.

You found it boring, really? I used to watch this film every Christmas as a child and I was always completely captivated by it. I still love it to this day and I'm now 24.

I saw this in the theatre when I was 8 and was bored to death and I was a kid that could easily sit through any movie happily...I still don't like watching this movie...I have no problem with the original but that one at least has a nostalgia feel to it...

This is extremely boring for children!
I, as well, don't understand what the target of this film was supposed to be.
Kids will find most of it slow-paced and dull (especially the legal scenes), while adults will not be interested in the story. It is also not enough lively to be watched by the whole family - every member will get bored to tears.
So, it's a failure as both a family movie and a kids movie.

I think it is meant more for teens & adults. My teenagers enjoy the movie as much as I do. My youngest is 14.

I was in 5th grade when I first saw this and liked it a lot! It's probably not aimed at kids and toddlers under 7 though

I had the same problem as a kid; this film is very boring, save for a few scenes.

Y'all are weird. This film tells essentially the same story as the original movie and I enjoyed the original quite a bit as a kid.

What kid doesn't like a movie about proving the existence of Santa Claus?
