Digging up an old thread, but since no one seemed to point this out - the romance between Trina and Nathanial seemed to be an exaggeration of those bodice ripper novels. Except, instead of a chiseled Fabio-type you have a balding, virgin numbskull who manages to charm the pants off the tomboy-ish love interest in the end. To that effect, I thought Walters did her job well. She didn't get equal share of the film's funny lines though and instead they seemingly saddled her character with angry sarcasm in an attempt to balance that out. When it works it works but when it doesn't it warrants a groan toward how bad it is.
