Can someone please explain the little segment about ten seconds into the titles, you know with the dog and the foot, I have to turn it off before I see that bit as it totally goes against the ending of the movie and really hacks me off, maybe I have just completely missed the point but how can there still be a foot if it was all a game. Also what has happened to the guy who played Trickster, I see on IMDB that he's done voices to show I've never heard of I cant belive thats it, and one final thing I know it'll probably never happen but does anyone really know if there is ever gonna be a sequal????

The only outright explanation is the Brainscan is a horror movie and horror movies have pretty much put themselves in a corner where some sort of dubious ending is expected. Fans hate the dubious endings, but then get pissed off when a movie ends without a "return" or some small further plot piece.

I don't think the dog means anything other than the notion that the director has to put some sort of horror ending on the movie. It's like the original "A Nightmare on Elm Street," where the ending mucks up the story because horror movies have to do so. It also adds a layer to the story, being that both movies are about wondering what is real and what is not, to suggest that maybe we don't really know what is the real existence. I wouldn't look any deeper into it than that.
