whats with the ending

Can someone please explain the little segment about ten seconds into the titles, you know with the dog and the foot, I have to turn it off before I see that bit as it totally goes against the ending of the movie and really hacks me off, maybe I have just completely missed the point but how can there still be a foot if it was all a game. Also what has happened to the guy who played Trickster, I see on IMDB that he's done voices to show I've never heard of I cant belive thats it, and one final thing I know it'll probably never happen but does anyone really know if there is ever gonna be a sequal????

lost in time, surrounded by evil, low on gas.....

This is my take on it... it could or could not be what's really going on..

*spoiler ahead*

I think the murder happened, with the foot and everything. Michael sees the cops and the dog, but doesn't really think about it. Then, since the game is done via hypnosis and taps into the unconcious, it takes that unrecognized memory and turns it into a possible demise for him in the game.
So then, while you're watching the whole thing, you're like "uh oh, that dog is getting him in such deep sh!t.." and then the end comes and you're like "whew..it was only a game", so then they bring up the fact the dog had that smelly old thing the entire time.... therefore freaking everyone out.

i'm not sure, but it's just my take on it! :)

If you watch the beginning, it shows the exact same thing, except it only shows the dog running toward the house with the foot in his mouth. I guess the movie kind of explains how and why it got there.

Well excuse me mr fancy pants.

The whole thing with the dog is part of the game. Keep watching during the credits.

Yeah, the ending, it was confusing at first, but after I watched it 10 times , I got it finally.

The beautiful babies don't work the midnight to six shift on a Wednesday. This is the skank shift.

but it really isnt part of the game... the dog had it before and after the entire game started (the beginning of the movie and during that break in the credits)

Before he starts playing the game there is an actual murder

Well, my take on the ending is that it was simply set up for a sequel (there were talks but I have no idea what happened with that). So, I think I would just go on the assumption that the murder actually did happen and it wasn't just a game. Only thing I can think of.

In addition to sequel help, I think the credits scene with the dog also could be a fun way to pretend as if the audience was killing people too during the movie, not really watching the film...

I think:

He sees the dog before he plays the game, knows there's a murder before he plays the game, and since the game plays with your psyche and subconscious mind, it stands to reason that those two images (cop cars and the dog) would play a part in his alternate reality. Like when you watch a movie before you go to bed and in your dreams certain aspects of the film are present. But then why he has a foot... I think that was just to get us to do what we are doing: discuss it and wonder about an eerie coincidence. I don't know, but I really don't want to buy the whole "he actually killed that first guy" thing, cuz that would almost ruin the movie for me. Because as the original post said, it would contradict the whole plot.

That, and I think it's definitely a little gag, led in by the Trickster, like another post said. After the dog helped him out twice, you just kind of feel he's gonna be seen again.

Not a bad little flick though.

It has to be a real life murder that his mind drew on for source material, because it coudln't be from the first victim - he would have been undone, just as his friends and what not were undone, and the scenario's / layers of reality at least have to be consistent to themselves, i'd say.

I've always assumed that it was a foot from when the Principal plays the game. Remember, he confiscates the disc near the end of the movie and says he's going to "preview" it like he said he'd do with the Horror Club's movies.

And the foot from the beginning is from someone else's game entirely.

Probably a set up for the sequel.
