Am I the only one?

Am I the only one who cried for hours after watching this movie. I thought it was so sad. the letter that Adam had written to Carolyn at the end was so sweet. I just love this movie. It's one of my favorite romantic movies of all time!

I think you are :-> But the story about the Baboon King brought a few tears to my eyes.
I thought it was cool how he snuck into her bedroom and set up that tree while every1 was sleeping.

Who laughed when that Rosie{chimp face}Perez kept talking about ape parts!
She is one to talk.

I cry every time I see this movie! The scene in the car, Caroline opening the package w/the records...tears me up. I'm not one for "chick flicks", but this is one of my faves.

I know exactly how you feel.I watched this movie on tv a couple of weeks ago and bawled my eyes out!I was depressed for the rest of the day after watching it. I love every scene in this movie!

I was crushed by this film.

It was as if a thousand pounds of emotional weight had fallen on my chest. For hours I wandered around my house in the dark collapsing against walls and sobbing uncontrollably. I haven't been able to cry in years, yet the film released something inside of me that I couldn't consciously suppress. It was the most cathartic, yet difficult, experience I've had in a long time. The piano keys still resound in my memory.

My fear is that I will forget this feeling and return to the frozen, emotionless existence of our wintery world.

It sounds like you did some good grieving about old hurts. I don't think you will forget this feeling. I still have some grieving of old hurts to do. Movies have helped me. I hope they will continue to help me.

I laughed my ass off throughout this movie ( my girlfriend kept calling me an *beep* throughout this movie ) C'mon, some simpleton won't get a heart transplant because he believes the baboon king gave him the heart he has. So stupid it was funny.

movies can be a very moving and emotional art form for people, get over yourself...

Its a movie and the purpose of a movie is to escape either with laughter, drama or romance. You need to let yourself go and try not to be so objective and emotionally guarded going into it. Im not into chick flicks myself but I would hardly call it that. Its a romance. You have really missed out on beautiful movie! By far the most amazing movie I have ever seen!

I cried for a long time after seeing it the first time and I still cry everytime I watch it to this day. It's a truly beautiful love story and it you liked it you'll also like Dogfight. It's another great romantic movie starring River Pheonix and Lili Taylor.

Hmm, wouldn't that make you 21?

Sorry, and that's not weird that you're a man and you like the movie. It's a nice movie - hate the ending, but it's nice.

After watching this I wanted to tell my husband how good it was; he loved emotional type movies. Then I remembered he passed away 3 months ago. Sometimes it just hits you when you least expect it.

I cried for Adam, for Caroline, for my husband, our sons and myself. But it was a good cry. Adam was so pure and innocent.

Let's just say that my pillow was soaked after the movie.

Oh gosh whenever i think about his movie i have to breath deep and exhale. Ughh when she's puts her head up to his heart at the end and then she starts crying. It's one of the saddest movies i think i've ever seen but ilove it. I always get teary eyed at the end when she goes to his appartment and opens the gift he gave her and reads what he wrote. i just about die!

I am going on 22 years old, I'm a guy, and I have no problem saying how much I love this movie. I don't cry, but I get this feeling in my stomach that reminds me of being in love. all the movies these days are trying too hard to be funny, they don't touch people like this one did, and still does. It's a great film, and if anyone knows of any love stories that are similar to this one, please let me know.

I saw this movie on a premium channel after it's intiail run in 93 and was moved to tears by it...I'm normally not one for chick-flicks either, but this one really struck a chord with me.

This was right after Marisa Tomei was cast in 'My Cousin Vinny' and the chemistry between Tomei and Slater is, for lack of a better term, electric. It doesn't hurt that Tomei is a gorgeous actress, but the look she has makes her seem so approachable. Slater pulled off what other actors couldn't; he made a character who was dark and mysterious play at your heart and make you root for him.

I've seen a lot of reviews of this movie that were in the negative; I can understand some points the reviewers made...lesser actors could have ruined this movie, but Tomei and Slater here are, simply put, pure magic.
