I haven't seen it years but, I remember how much I liked it as a kid.
A lot of the stuff that I've since watched from when I was a kid I still think most is pretty great when I watch it again. However I did like things like power rangers..
So is this that bad?
Trust me, it's not that bad. And this is coming from someone who has played Mario games for years.
shareI loved this movie as a kid when it first came out, I used to watch it all the time when it would come on cable. I just watched it on Blu-Ray, first time seeing it in probably 15 years, and it's even better than I remembered. This movie is an absolute masterpiece! I don't mean that ironically, either. It's just so much damn fun. I love the performances from Hoskins, Leguizamo, Hopper, Mojo Nixon... I love the crazy, detailed cyberpunk-kind of sets, the practical in-camera special effects, the early CG, the music, some of the weird dialogue which is actually pretty creative and witty sometimes. It's just hilarious and quite a spectacle of absurd, manic, crazy, weird, totally out there shenanigans. The next closest "family" movie I can think of is the also absurd and totally out there Babe 2: Pig in the City, which I also love.
sharei took my oldest son to see it when it came out, and I thought it was quite fun. he loved power rangers.
