How come when it's a chick, it's sweet and innocent and cute?

What the hell? Am I the only one who witnessed Meg Ryan's character as an obsessed stalker nutjob in this movie?

Searching for a stranger's name and whereabouts from a public database? Hiring an investigator to take photos of him? Flying cross country for a weekend to watch him play with his son while hiding behind a house?

It actually depends on the character not the gender, Ben Stiller was a stalker in there's something about mary, and nobody ever brings it up, They find it funny and endearing, and have something against matt dillion lol

I'm watching this right now, and I totally agree. As the movie progresses, Annie's behavior becomes more and more stalker like. Don't know how people find this romantic !
