Not sure why people have always been so hard on this. Is it because it's a remake of a more successful movie?

I think it's a great film. Bridget Fonda was a great lead roll and the movie was well made in general.

I think people might not like the "shot for shot" remake approach because it appears to be completely unimaginative. OR people like to just act like hipsters and act like original is always better (which is not).

i do think however that this movie needs some serious updates and a remake is over due. yeah, the show was made and it's basically one of my favorite shows ever but it's really a sequel the movie. i think the movie plot itself needs an update with new technology. I mean, the computers in the movie used a *beep* floppy disc. LOL

This is definitely one of my favorites. I am a fan of Bridget Fonda as well.

Agreed. It's a shame that she retired from acting at such a young age. So beautiful and talented.

Point of No Return, Single White Female and Singles were all great.

I also enjoyed her unexpected pairing with Jet Li in Kiss of the Dragon.

Don't forget: Shag, Jackie Brown and A Simple Plan.

Finding Graceland is worth checking out too.

Ha, yeah. Lake Placid is a ton of fun.

What a weird film. It's B-movie schlock but with an A-list cast and the results are great.

I just rewatched A Simple Plan a few months ago and it's really good. It's a very underappreciated film that seems largely forgotten now.

lol, seeing this movie in the feed...it reminds me of how prevalent Bridgette Fonda used to be in films and how, to me, it seems as if she has dropped off the face of the Earth. Retired maybe.
I never actually saw this. I saw the original, a foreign film....French I think.

She retired way back in the early 00s to be a wife and a mom. She just walked away from the industry with surprising ease.

It's a shame because she was still relatively young and no doubt had some good performances left in her.

Yep and if you watch the remake you will understand why people that have seen it don't like the remake. The original had much better acting in the key rolls. You would normally expect a remake with lots of money behind it to up the level but here they dropped the ball and the remake seems half assed compared to the original.
