I just want to give mad props to the people that put Loaded Weapon at the top of their lists. To those who didn't put it in their top 5, well you might want to give it another look. This movie is one of my favorites of all time. Definitely my favorite comedy. And if you've only seen it once then I don't blame you for thinking otherswise. This movie warrants several viewings a year (I usually watch it 4 or 5 times.) In all sincerety, this is one of the only movies that I think reveals new bits of hilarity every time I watch it.

Let me explain. You know how Airplane is a brilliant movie, right? But do you ever notice how it gets a little bit less funny every time you watch it. Just like a scary movie. You know where the scares are so it's less scary. In Airplane you know all of the jokes so it's less funny.

Well, Loaded Weapon (although it has many jokes that are less & less funny) has something else. PERFORMANCES! Sammy LJ & Emilio should have won Oscars for these roles. That's right, I said it. And not just them. The whole cast is absolutely breath-taking. And don't get me started on the cameos - This movie has more cameo appearances per capita than every movie ever made... COMBINED! This movie has kept me laughing five times a year for about a decade. And I notice new bits of gold every time I watch it. Not new jokes, neccesarily, (although that is quite possible,) but new comic nuances in performance.

I'm sad to say that it's one of those things where if your not on the boat by now then you'll never be. But, please, do yourself a favor; Give this grossly underrated classic another look... Or five. And do us all a favor and give it a big mother f'n "10" on IMDB.
