A perfectly directed movie

The music, the casting, the locations, the pacing... I have problems finding issues or critiques.

I completely agree. I know there are a TON of people that feel the book is superior but most novels have the luxury of the reader truly being engulfed in their imaginations as they turn the pages... however, the screenplay is fantastic for this movie. Tom Cruise just kills it and the cast really delivers. I did read the book back then and it's outstanding but I don't think any less of this movie just because the book was so good.

Totally. I wish they still made quality mid-budget thrillers like this but now it’s all vacuous mega-budget swill or meh indi films, and everything pumped with creepy Woke messaging.

Gone Girl was the last decent thriller I saw in cinema and that was almost a decade ago.

Yeah, unfortunately (or fortunately), the solution is to watch films from before around 2010.
