Me I watched it late one night on Starz back in late December 1994 and got immediately hooked on that movie, this movie has one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard and I also had a lot of admiration for many of the characters and the situations they've gotten themselves into.

shareI remember seen it on BBC's 2 Videodrome (it was during Mark Cousin's run) in the late 90's. It definitely one of those film's that grip you in on it's first watch, I was only 16 when I saw it and I went out the next day to HMV and bought it on videotape. It's a film I could watch a few times over and not get bored with it, from it's awesome soundtrack, to top notch performances and just it's feel good feel that you can't help but feel you are in the 70's.

shareI saw this the first time in my dorm room freshman year of college with my roommate (still a close friend of mine to this day) and a guy we knew at the time. The guy brought the film over and we watched it late one night when I believe the other guy needed to stay over. While I enjoyed it, I didn't quite get it the first time. But, if I remember correctly, my roommate and I talked about it enough (and I may have seen it again before I bought it but can't remember) that I eventually picked it up. Started to really love it, and when I found a Criterion Collection version, bought that as well. Now, in addition to that, I pieced the soundtrack together, full thing, in order minus three songs that actually play twice each and I had to pick which spot I wanted them), and have it on my IPod!
shareThere was a magazine called "Film Threat" that did an article on it. When the movie showed up on cable I got to watch it. It was a pretty accurate as far as coming of age during the seventies was concerned.

shareSame here. Rented it (and never returned it). Loved it. When I got my first DVD player, I bought 3 discs that day and this was one of them. Bought the special edition when it came out and gave away my original copy. Bought the Criterion edition and gave away the SE version. I even bought the book that was out years ago. I’ve seen the film way too many times lol.
shareOlder brother had a VHS copy that I borrowed along with a bunch of other movies. I was about 13 and went crazy when they ran off from the dude whose mailbox they smashed, and he was shooting at them.
I let my buddy in on the movie, let him borrow it. He let HIS friend borrow it, and then THAT friends mom threw it away. Bummer.
Saw it when it came out on VHS, Wooderson was my brother personified in 1976...same hair, same mustache, same build, same dude who thought he was a ladies man and smoked pot all the time.
shareDidn't see it when it came out, probably the lousy marketing failed to pull me in. Saw some reference to it online recently saying it was good and then stumbled onto it in the cable listings so set it to record. Watched it and instantly fell in love with it. Really captures the essence of the time and yeah what a great soundtrack.
