It did not age well.
I get SO DAMN tired of hearing "It did not age well" or "it's dated".
Any movie that didn't come out in the last five years is going to seem "dated", especially when it has hairdo & wardrobes, terminology, and obsolete technology, ETC. that hasn't been in use for 44 years... OF COURSE IT ISN'T going to age well!
God forbid anything should be from another time without that 21st century "touch" to it.
But do you know what makes comments like these even more irritating?... When some idiot says these things about a movie that was purposely set in a specific period of the past!
The real plane crashed on Friday the 13 October 1972
This movie is supposed to represent 1972! That was almost 44 years ago. DUH! Of course it didn't "Age Well"! It wasn't expected to "Age Well" the instant the film was in theaters in 1993!
It's like saying the movie Lincoln (2012), won't age well because every one rides around in horse and carriages...
When I watch Metropolis (1927)... I know that it won't feel like a modern movie, because I know... It is a silent film, shot in B&W, with silent film stars acting it. Metropolis would never be made or released today, because it would be a box office failure, before it would even be made. So of course it is "dated", and didn't "age well".
Movies made years ago, does not make it bad!
You either need to accept that most older films and tv are going to age poorly or be dated at some point or another... or just stop watching older entertainment all together, because sooner or later, you won't like!
