Who is the most formidable "Monster of the Week" character?

I'd say Pusher, whom Scully describes as a "highly intelligent sociopath with no fear of dying". The likes of Tooms, Leonard Betts, and Bob Roberts ("Hungry") have freakish physical capabilities, but Pusher could talk them silly. The guy manipulates one FBI agent into self-immolation, and another into a fatal heart attack, for crying out loud.

Who's your pick for most formidable "Monster of the Week"?

Shadow man (Terry O'Quinn) as he's jumping into bare rock like it's nobody's business!

Does "Cigarette Smoking Man" count? He was kinda like a monster but in a different way.

reply

I guess he does, since he was the focus of the episode, "Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man". A very sinister fella with some pretty darn powerful means.

of all the monsters/freaks of the week from X-Files, Robert Modell aka Pusher was on the show like 3 or 4 times.

Leonard Betts I wouldnt call him a bad guy/monster of the week. in a way he was helping people to relieve them of their illness.

Tooms.. Nothing more needs to be said.. 2 great episodes with this character

TOOMS.. Nuff said

Gotta be Tooms. Creeped me the hell out.

Dang... there were many. I'd have to say number 1 would be "Die Hand Die Verletzt" because it's well, Satan, lol. Next up would be a tie between Robert Patrick Modell (Pusher) and Eddie Van Blundht (Small Potatoes) who could turn into anyone. Then Edward Tooms and The Peacock Family (Home).
