Michael Landes

Was he replaced because he was better looking/hotter than Cain?

reply

The reason given was that he and Dean Cain looked too much alike.

reply

That was the reason given, but the real reasons were...

1: He was very difficult to work with. He was very serious about his roles and he did not like ANY any horseplay.

2: He kept on asking for more money. He was making like 8,000 an episode and he had his agents gun for 15. They said , that's nice, how about 9,000 The agents said that's nice how about 15? They said that;s nice how about 10? The agents said that's nice how about 15??

They got tired of the pushing for twice what he was making, so they fired him.

I love DC but I do agree with carrosboy that he was better looking/hotter than Dean. The Jimmy Olson they hired later was their version of Wesley Crusher.

Oh Thank you God! Thank you so BLOODY much!Basil Fawlty

I thought Landes was great and was disappointed when he left the show. He has handsome but, IMO, not moreso than Cain. Like deem714, I’d heard he left over disagreement about money. As I can’t remember ever seeing him in anything after that, I wonder if he regrets his hardball tactics.

I also liked him. Then again, I think I always like the first choice actor. I hate when they are replaced in a show. The only exclusion to that rule for me was the replacement actress for Jane Seymore in The Tudors. the 2nd one was so much prettier and fit the role better. But I am sorry he had to leave the show. I get wanting more money but sometimes greed gets in the way, sadly.

If he left over money there would be stories about it everywhere, it's something you hear about a lot, however it's unclear.
