Anyone like this movie?
I'm mixed on it personally.
shareRobert Altman. Excellent movie.
shareI watched it at least 3 times and plan to watch it again. I don't love it, but I always go back to it for some reason. It sticks with you
shareKind of boring.
shareI watched The Player the other day for the first time and it's not too bad. I kinda liked it. I wasn't totally absorbed by it but it's a solid film.
It's definitely for people that lived through the 90s and know who the big time celebrities were back then because there's a lot of'em in TP. All the cameos in this movie were a nice touch and added a sense of realism to the movie.
But something about Tim Robbins' acting style irks me just a bit. I liked him in Shawshank Redemption and he was surprisingly great in Mystic River but he's kind of awkward in this.
Still a good film though, I'll give it a 7.0 out of 10. It does remind me of another "Hollywood murder mystery" film called The Cat's Meow (2001). Hard to say which film is better but I would probably give TCM a slightly higher rating.
I liked it a lot, I think it's a good, solid, highly intelligent movie, and a fun look behind the Hollywood curtain.
I don't love it madly, though, but then it's not the sort of film I go nuts over.
I love it
I use to be that goofy gopher kid on the bike delivering mail ( non paying internship) and Altman does a good job portraying it with realism, but also with a lot of lighthearted humor.
Saw it the other night. I really loved it. I love movies about the behind the scenes of the industry.
shareI did. Altman has only made two films worth watching: this and MASH.
