Braveheart Vs The Last of the Mohicans Vs Dances with the Wolves

I would like to get your opinion of which movie you favor more and why?
More or less these 3 movies have almost same feel to 'em. Loved the cinematography, direction, slow but steady pacing, music, story line and acting of lead

I love Braveheart more than other two.

Pardon my english. It is the second language. - Dr. Schultz

Dances with wolves and The last of the Mohicans

Here's how I place 'em:

1. Dances With Wolves
2. Last of the Mohicans

(actually I like both of them about equally, but I'd go with "Dances" if backed against a wall)

3. Braveheart

Braveheart is overrated IMHO. It has some really good scenes, but also some lousy ones, like the lame betrayal scene or Wallace on horseback confronting the noble in his bed chambers and easily escaping (on horseback, lol).

Last of the Mohicans. Powerful story, strong performances, memorable music and historical.

Dances with Wolves comes in second. I don't like Braveheart. Gibson seems miscast to me.

reply

Although I like Mohican's I do feel it is somewhat empty in terms of plot. Every time I watch it, at the end I feel like nothing really happened. But yes, I do like the film.

Dances with Wolves gets rather preachy at times.

So Braveheart for me.

reply

Mohicans has better music and girls in it.

Madeline Stowe and Catherine McCormack are both stunners, but Braveheart wins bc McCormack gets her bags out - and they’re big.

Honestly, I think it should be Gettysburg vs. The Last of the Mohicans vs Braveheart

Gettysburg really feels like a cousin of The Last of the Mohicans, I feel like Dances With Wolves is really not the epic that people say it is.

reply

Braveheart wins.

Mohicans is too rushed at 2 hours. If it was allowed to be a proper 3 hour epic it could beat Gibson but it’s just too breezy.

Wolves is great but it’s kinda slow (especially the 4 hour cut) and not a great deal happens.

Braveheart is a cradle to grave epic with great characters, great drama, and savage, bloody battle scenes that changed war films forever. It’s the most complete of the three. Mad Mel is a mad genius.

Braveheart. Hands down. Bar none.
